We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keisha Hall a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Keisha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
I would say in my small business that I separate myself and standout, because my clients are not a number, but a person. I allow my clients to have one on one services therefore they have my undivided attention and skills. I set a high standard for my brand and services and nothing less is acceptable.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Well, I actually have always been real crafty. But I got into the nail world solely, because I was unable to keep up with my beauty needs do to my demanding government position at the time. So, I started dabbling with nail products and found myself pretty good at it. I then started researching and found a school that offered a manicurist program. I enrolled and the rest is history.
I provide high quality nail services. Whether it is a simple manicure or an exotic set of acrylic nails. I also, provide enhanced pedicures that suits every one needs and wants.
I am most proud of my knowledge and my hunger for more knowledge and my skill set. I think that sets me apart from others in this industry.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I would say part of this journey that illustrates my resilience would be Covid-19. That was and still is a trying time for us all. Being a Master Nail Technician was my sole income at the time and when the world shut down that impacted me financially. As well as with the uncertainty of what was next it was scary. But when I couldn’t physically do my craft I found that I could still make an impact by educating clients and others through social media. I would post tips on how to maintain their nails, and just post uplifting and educational videos to help the next.
Have you ever had to pivot?
During Covid-19 I had to pivot my business. Since I couldn’t physically do nails I decided to produce products that would help clients and customers maintain their nails and beauty. I started crafting organic, sugar scrubs, bath soaks, cuticle oils, body oils, and more.
