We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dyan McNeely. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dyan below.
Dyan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
As everyone knows now, we are in the middle of a global pandemic. With this pandemic, families have had to endure lost wages due to unemployment, students have had to miss school or go online, and families have lost loved ones.
In 2020, I watched as my children missed school from March until May due to the new Covid pandemic. At the start of the new year, schools decided to start online.
With this, many students lost the ability to attend school sports, dances, and the all important graduation.
At McNeely Photography, we decided to give back to our community and offer all senior graduates free senior portraits/graduation portraits to help the students preserve memories that may have been lost due to the pandemic.
Many families reached out and took their portraits and were thrilled their students were able to still receive memories of a lifetime.
Dyan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
McNeely Photography was founded back in 2017 by Dyan McNeely.
Dyan is a mother of three children and wife for over 15 years. Dyan also works during the night as a night auditor for Radisson Inn.
Dyan was diagnosed in 2020 with Lupus but that doesn’t stop her from being hardworking and giving back to the community.
Dyan has done two projects, an Anti Bullying Awareness and Suicide Awareness project. Dyan has worked with local Dallas teen model and actress Ella Morrow on these projects.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe that finding out what your clients need and executing it in a fashion that is loyal to your brand. Ensuring clients are satisfied and receiving exactly what you offer helps to build repeat clientele as they know what you are advertising is what they will receive.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2008, my father committed suicide and that caused me to have severe panic attacks and anxiety. With this, I turned to photography as a outlet.
In 2018, I was able to work with the talented Ella Morrow and create a project based on Suicide Awareness and help shed light on a global problem.
