Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Linda Burtch. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Linda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Have you ever seen (or implemented) a really awesome way to show a client you appreciate them
One of the centerpieces of our business is customer service, and our team works hard to “surprise and delight” our clients not only during the buying and selling process, but for life. We curate several special events throughout the year that encourage our client base to not only continue to stay connected to us, but to also invite them to cultivate relationships with our other clients and continue to grow and network their own connections. There are several different types of events that we have carefully curated, some in which we go to the clients, some where the clients come to us, gifting on special occasions like birthdays and home anniversaries, and plenty of small curated events/experiences as well as call in giveaways and social media contests.
Events in which we go to the clients: People are busy. In this day and age we all have our calendars packed full of events. Work, school, appointments, events, family vacations, the list goes on and on, and we recognize that hanging out with your real estate team every month at an organized event was just not an effective (or possible!) thing for many of our clients to plan for. So the thought was to go to them! Every quarter our team puts together small care packages/gifts for our clients, and we deliver them right to their doorstep followed up with a text thanking them for their continued loyalty to our team and reminding them that we are always looking to serve them and their referrals with all things real estate. Our clients get so excited to receive these gifts each quarter, and know that they can reach out to our team at any time with questions or for assistance.
Events in which the clients come to us: The key to bigger events is preparation and making sure that we are hosting an event that we love! We do an in person quarterly event for all of our clients, most of which are tied to a charity cause and are family friendly so anyone can attend and enjoy the event. Once a year we do an exclusive VIP dinner for our repeat clients, as an over-the-top extra thank you for their continued loyalty and business. This last year we had over 30 clients in attendance at this event, enough that this year we anticipate needing a larger venue for this very upscale dinner event. Another long-standing tradition has been to rent a luxury theater for the release of the Marvel movie each spring. This year was our 7th year hosting a Marvel movie, and we get calls from our clients asking about this specific event months in advance so they can plan on coming to the movies with us! A few other events we have had success with are showcasing local breweries, participating in BBQ contests, golf tournaments for non-profits, and food truck neighborhood parties.
Gifting: Everyone loves to know that you remembered their birthday! We love to send our clients custom, curated gifts on their birthdays and their home anniversaries just to remind our clients that we care. The response to this has been nothing short of overwhelming – the special thank yous and online reviews just for this little gesture to our clients has been really worth it!
Giveaways and Contests: Everyone wants to work with a company that is giving back or showing that they are connected to their local community, and we love to support local businesses and community events through sponsoring and promoting all things local. You can catch us sponsoring local live music events, showcasing a new local restaurant on social media, highlighting specific neighborhoods and their businesses, and giving away cool products from local, small businesses as often as we can! Not only does this help with our own brand awareness, it creates a unique sense of local community that the world is often lacking in this day and age.
As a team, we feel it is important to make our clients feel that they are not just a transaction, they are our friends, fellow business owners, neighbors, and best advocates. We built our brand on the concept that what we put out comes back to us, so we strive to create value and fun for our clientele as often as possible. Plus, it’s a whole lot of fun!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
