We were lucky to catch up with Angel Rogers recently and have shared our conversation below.

Angel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

The beauty industry target audience often appear to be beautiful, working class, high fashion women whom seem to have it all together. But what about the young lady or women who’s in the middle of a life crisis. Who battling motherhood, depression or suicidal thought. May have lost their sense of self-esteem, has been neglecting self care, doesn’t know where to turn and certainly doesn’t feel beautiful.

Bella Reine “Beautiful Queen” Cosmetics is on a mission to change the narrative of who and what is considered beautiful in the beauty industry. We take pride in not just being another brand, but a lifestyle, that enhances a “Beautiful Queen” one divine feature at a time through the holistic power of makeup application, encouraging self-love, empowerment and faith building.

We have created cosmetic products that are designed to restore self confidence and evoke a spiritual relationship with Christ. Our products aim to make you feel and look beautiful on the outside and give you the reassurance to push through life no matter circumstances. Each product illustrates steps to draw the consumer a closer spiritual fellowship with Christ and self. Our liners guide you to pencil time in with Christ every day. Our lipsticks motivate you to kiss self doubt goodbye and that’s just to make a few.

This mission is very important to me because not only am I the CEO, but I’m a consumer. Not long again, I was that new mom drowning in failure, depression and trying to navigate through life ups and downs. It took so much of me to fight through my trials and tribulations. Despite it all, I knew I couldn’t just give up on myself and defeat wasn’t an option. I fought pass my fears and challenges and returned back to my first true loves: God, people, beauty and faith. I knew then, the rebirth of a Bella Reine “Beautiful Queen” was on its way!

Angel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

With the medical industry being my field of expertise for over 15 years, helping and assisting others come naturally. Unfortunately, after my initial failure of nursing school, I was impelled to try something different. I was lead into the entrepreneurial and beauty industry.

Being overwhelmed with failing nursing school, I wanted to partake in something I thought was liberating yet, rewarding. I took an interest in learning about entrepreneurship, cosmetic formulations and makeup applications. I enrolled in an esthetic program to learn more on this matter and become a professional license esthetician.

After successfully completing the esthetic program, I returned back to nursing school and successfully completed the nursing program as well. With both degrees under my belt, I dove right into my true life passion and purpose; Enhancing a “Beautiful Queen” one divine feature at a time!

What set us apart from other beauty brands, is are ability to take a holistic approach in enhancing one’s beauty from the outside in to the inside out. We start with the end in mind. Assisting others with enhancing their outer beauty, has been proven to enhance and uplift their inner beauty.

Our liner (both eye and lip) guide you to pencil in time with Christ every day. Our lipsticks motivative you to kiss self-doubt goodbye and that’s just to name a few.

On our packaging, each products is inscribed with a unique, uplifting verse directly from the Bible. The verse has been included in hopes that it will inspire and illumine them when they need a little moment grace and empowerment.

We are most proud of being a faith driven brand that introduce and help women stay connected to Christ through cosmetics.

Have you ever had to pivot?

I had to pivot careers after the failure of nursing school. I never imaged being an entrepreneur and I definitely didn’t think I possessed the qualifications or mindset. Once I pivoted and change my career, I changed my life. Becoming an entrepreneur has been one of the most rewarding ventures of my life.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I had to unlearn the concept of “stinking thinking” and speaking negatively over my life. I had to stop telling myself I wasn’t good enough and not smart enough to be a nurse. I had to stop preprogramming my mind that I couldn’t do something.

For so many months I continued to tell myself that nursing school was too hard for me and I couldn’t do it. Constantly speaking negatively over myself aided me in not successful completing the program the first time around. Once I changed my thoughts, mindset and stopped the “stinking thinking”, I successfully completed the nursing program and received my degree.
