We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Anne Robert. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Anne below.
Anne , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
Looking back, I do wish that I started my business sooner. Starting sooner would allow time for growth and learning which means more time to gain experience, develop my skills, and learn from my mistakes. It would also allow market advantage, financial benefits, flexibility, and fulfillment & purpose.
I graduated cosmetology school over 6 years ago and just recently started my wedding hair business. I finally took the leap of faith, and decided to create my brand, and build towards something for my legacy. I have two beautiful daughters that need me. I want my business to lead me to financial freedom where I can be available for my girls.
Although I didn’t start sooner, the most important factor is that I decided to star now. With hard work and dedication I believe I can achieve my goals for my business.
Anne , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Wedding & Event hair stylist and I absolutely love what I do. I get to be apart of a very special day; a forever memory for my clients. I am most proud that these clients choose and trust me to make them even more beautiful.
From a young age I have always loved styling hair. I watched my mom style hair and I practiced on my baby dolls, friends and family. I was always the goto person for everyone.
I always felt in my soul that I was not born to be mediocre!!! Ive always waned to be a “boss”, a “CEO”, as some would call it. I strive to be successful and lead a major wedding company one day. The goal is to have financial freedom, and full availability for my kids. I also want to leave a legacy/ family business behind for my girls if they want it. Thats the goal!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I would say finishing cosmetology school illustrates my resilience. I can honestly say it was very hard for me to attend school, 5 days a week 9am-5pm, work an evening job, and take care of take care of my family. I was exhausted daily, but still did my best to push through and pass my classes. While in school I planned a wedding, got married and then tragedy happened when I lost my baby due to miscarriage, literally while in school styling hair. I was rushed to the hospital where I officially found out. Although it was very difficult I still persevered and finished becauseI knew what the end goal was!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I originally started going to Bethune Cookman University for Criminal Justice, I then became pregnant sophomore year. After I had my daughter I decided I would switch paths. What was something else I loved to do? What was something I could grow and become successful at doing? Hair! That is when I decided that I should go to cosmetology school and the rest is history!
