We were lucky to catch up with TJ Snyder recently and have shared our conversation below.

TJ, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

It was summer of 2019 and my constant love and dedication for Philadelphia sports was a huge part of my life. I wanted to channel that energy and excitement into something I could build up. I thought of the name phillycrew, created an Instagram page, and got to work. From there I gained 10,000 followers in 1 year!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Just over 5 years ago, my friends and I wanted to share our common passion for all Philadelphia sports. So we created ‘PhillyCrew’, on Instagram with barely any experience in graphic designing or social media. As I learned Photoshop, I began with crafting different templates for final scores, breaking news, and basically anything I found interesting. As time continued, our posts began to grow as well as PhillyCrew as a brand. Through 5 years of consistency, we have expanded our platforms to Tiktok, Twitter, and YouTube, while also selling over 1,000 units of merchandise. We have worked with SeatGeek and Fanduel on sponsorships, in addition to selling our advertising space weekly

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

When managing a team, it’s very important to be extremely organized and confident in everything you do. If you have these two characteristics then you are in good shape.
