Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Krystal Noble – Mayse. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Krystal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
I remember the dream vividly. I sat on a pink couch with a microphone in my hand and a smile on my face as hundreds maybe thousands of adoring fans listened intently to my message. I awoke from my slumber shortly after the vision, and as I sat up in bed; I allowed myself to dream and imagine what that would feel like. I have always had the desire to inspire, encourage and help others, and I had often dreamt of doing so with my blog, events or even a podcast.
But, as I started to see the vision of my big dreams, the reality of set in. I am terribly shy, socially awkward and did not believe that I had the tolerance to listen and watch myself on screen. So, I stuffed that dream in the back of my mind and decided that it was too scary to follow. I plagued my thoughts with all of the negative “what-if” scenarios and came to the conclusion that I do not possess the skills or the confidence necessary to pull-off the ideas that came to me in a dream.
As I reflect now, four years later, I am extremely proud of the fact that I decided to be bold and go for it. I revamped my blog and I launched my podcast that is also available as a video.
I have encountered several life shifting and shaping challenges over the last five years and I learned first-hand how much power lies in sharing a story. Sharing stories can create a community that can cultivate and create a dynamic and environment that allows healing and change.
My first step in creating my podcast, was being brave enough to share my own story. Which, was very difficult for me. My heart pounded and my fingers shook as I typed down each and every detail of my life. I shared the parts that I tried to hide and forget . I shared everything to the point that I felt as though I was standing naked with the amount of vulnerability and uncomfortable truths that were laced in the memories that I shared. I shrunk at the thought of everyone that I knew , knowing my dirty secrets.
Early in the process, I confided in a friend seeking help with my podcast project and I remember feeling nauseous as I pressed send to share my outline of the content that I planned to share. I anxiously anticipated the feedback and my friend encouraged, gave me advice and tips on filming and let me know that my story had the potential to help so many people.
Over the course of the next three months until my launch, I sought advice, researched, planned and worked on my content until my launch. It has been a continuous learning process from me. I had to learn about software, editing and filming process. And each video has come with its own unique challenge. And there were many times that I wanted to give up, but the support from friends and family have kept me going.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
