Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rashad Ali. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Rashad, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Growing up in the 80’s and early 90’s I was a fan of Soul Train, Arsenio Hall Show , Video Soul and Club MTV. back than I would watch the show consistently not realizing that I would have my own entertainment platform. I was good at basketball and baseball but music became my calling I had a local show in elementary school 5 days a week called “Kids At Work” from 1992-1994 it was very popular school program.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Back in June of 1996 , my childhood friend name shameka had a uncle that was a booking promoter and he needed someone who can make concert flyers and she referred me to her uncle name K.C. Dunkerson (R.I.P.) from there I learned about the music business at a young age 15. From there I DJ couple of local concerts and hosted my own hip-hop show for couple years. Fast forward to 2016 I created a company called “RnB Souleffect-Tv” is a all around entertainment company that celebrates legendary artists careers and supports indie r&b singer’s, from there I’ve interviewed over 300 plus guest on my podcast from Kenny Lattimore,After 7,Ruff Endz and many more to go from 150 followers to 47,000 I’m blessed how far me and my team came.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In order to make that happen is “DON’T TALK ABOUT IT” you gotta “BE ABOUT IT” alot of times from artist’s have a struggle of how to brand their own name and being consistent with their music, 80% of legends don’t give out advice to upcoming artist’s which is sad. My advice to any artist is learn the business first before you start making any moves , get your LLC. , trademark your business and if you want to have a team keep your circle small but also never complained about”MONEY” because in order to stand out you have to invest but becareful of scammers on Facebook and Instagram they’ll sell YOU a dream and they will turn it to a nightmare.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal is to be consistent, study the greats that became very successful in the entertainment business. Remember a age there’s no limit to learn , there’s some adults that’s in their 50’s and 60’s that’s in the music business but delayed on business skills which is sad because you want to be at a age where you are season and have alot of business experiences , so never be a crash dummy.
