We were lucky to catch up with Amanda Mitseff recently and have shared our conversation below.
Amanda , appreciate you joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
When my husband Bill and I first got together, we had no idea really about the financial freedom possibilities when it came to investing in real estate. It was October 2019 when we bought our first investment property and we have got a couple more under our belt since then. Bill and I got married that next month after buying our first house and now have two precious boys both under three years old. It would have been great if we would have started the investing journey sooner but everything happens for a reason! We are building our wealth and our family at the same time. As for my affiliate marketing on social media, I’ve tried to do as much as I can and stay consistent, but also being a stay at home mom it’s hard to always create content. I am here and still trucking though, and still made some money on the side! Got to have those multiple streams of income! I am just happy at the knowledge me and my husband are gathering to be able to pass down to our sons.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a stay at home mom who strives on having multiple streams of income to set me and my family up for success. I create videos/pictures online teaching others makeup techniques, sharing every day mom fashion, and moments with my kids on social media. My husband and I have a couple rental properties that we have invested in. We are also dabbling in wholesaling and other real estate investing strategies. I just want other moms to feel confident and empowered. As moms we really are superheroes!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In February 2021, me and my husband bought our second investment property. I was pregnant with our first son and we just bought this home for SUPER cheap but it needed a lot of work! There was literally graffiti and holes punched in every wall and door. You can tell the previous renters that were in that home did not treat it well at all. For the investment to be worth it and for us to get a lot of equity in the home… Those are the types of properties that we typically look for. We also do a lot of the work ourselves. Well imagine me pregnant at nine months, painting the garage of this house to try to cover up all the graffiti. I was also helping haul out all the junk that the renters left behind. I was putting some real “sweat equity” into this home. After showing that home the TLC it deserved, now it’s a beautiful investment property that’s holding some happy renters right now and making us monthly money FOREVER! Worth it!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
So before I had children I was able to make, edit, and upload many YouTube videos. I would take hours editing and making the videos just right. Well now having two boys under three years old… I do not have much time for that. I did change my Instagram niche from makeup tutorials to more family matching/coordinated outfits. I guess just as I change over the years I change up my social media platform as well. When it comes to affiliate marketing through your personal social media platforms, I think you will always have to pivot. Trends change, life happens, and you just have to be adaptable.
