Tammy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share a customer success story with us?

Because my online Business (Be Like a BABE) was created to encourage and inspire others I am fortunate enough to have received many amazing testimonies from my loyal customers.

One story that stands out is from a dear friend and customer that was going through some really hard times in her life.

Her letter:

“Thank you for creating a women’s brand that did exactly what you designed it to do, motivate, encourage, and inspire women to Be Anything Be Everything they choose to be.

I know personally there were days I would put on a Hero or Bold Babe shirt, wear it all day and sometimes even sleep in it. Even though the shirt was super cute, it was so much more about the message behind the shirts that lifted me up. I really felt the things that particular BABE represented. Thank you!”

To say I am humbled by this letter and the countless others I received would be an understatement. The encouragement that I know this brand represents makes me so proud.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Growing up I was always very close to my Mother and Grandmother. They were two of the strongest women I have ever known. I am so thankful that strength was passed on to me. I have been so blessed to have always had amazingly strong women in my life, walking by my side and encouraging me. When I made a decision to create a brand, it only seemed fitting that it would encourage and inspire all women to believe in themselves and find that inner strength.

Be Like a BABE (Be Anything Be Everything) was created to inspire, encourage and motivate all women to believe that they can Be Anything… Be Everything they choose to be!

I could not be more proud of how this brand has encouraged and inspired countless women and how they identify with one or more of our awesome Babes. It’s not just about the how cute the shirt or hat looks on, it’s the message behind each of our Babes and how it makes you feel when you are wearing it. It’s like dressing yourself in encouragement and inspiration.

The other amazing part of Be Like a BABE is promoting “women encouraging women”. Put aside the jealousies and comparisons and really cheer each other on. A real bond between two women is a powerful thing! We are all fearfully and wonderfully made, God designed us with our own unique strengths and gifts. Switching gears to the other important part of my journey. After losing my wonderful husband to cancer I realized how sharing my own story not only helped me but many others dealing with the same struggles. It made me feel less alone. My hearts desire is to grow a community of survivors that have or had cancer, lost someone to cancer or taken care of someone with cancer, by sharing their stories. Chances are most of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another, either personally or they know someone that has.

FACES (Fighting Against Cancer with Extraordinary Strength) shares inspirational stories of men, women, and children who have cancer, fought cancer, or have lost a loved one to cancer. The stories will portray the faith, hope and determination of those learning to live through the struggles of cancer and put a face to their story. These stories become a legacy for themselves and their loved ones for years to come.

Every journey will be different, every story will shed a unique prospective on something that a patient, survivor, or caretaker can relate to. My desire is always to encourage others through whatever I do.

Have you ever had to pivot?

I have had to pivot many times in life. Personally, the biggest change came after the loss of my husband to cancer, leaving me a rather young widow. My biggest fear was not being able to take care of myself. Having always been the one who took care of others, I questioned, “Would I be able to stand on my own, without my best friend?”

It took some time and I really learned the value of my circle during that time. It was most important to surround myself with great people that would encourage me, pray for me and lift me up, especially when I couldn’t do it on my own.

There were times I was pivoting daily, having to make decisions that I wasn’t use to making and questioning if I was doing things right. I believe we do that in business as well, we pivot when we have to, so we can make it work and benefit the most.

I would encourage you to not be afraid to make the changes in yourself or your business. Picture it like cutting off the branches that don’t produce the fruit, making room for fresh new growth, so you and your business can thrive.

Pivots in your life (personally or professionally) don’t mean failure. They mean new opportunity, especially in a start-up business. Be bold and think out of the box.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

My best advice for keeping team morale high is never stop encouraging!

You can never encourage your team enough. Even the smallest acknowledgement of a job well done goes a long way in boosting confidence and increasing job performance. Look for ways you can encourage, affirm, recognize and value your team.

Listen to your team and be as transparent as possible with them. Coach them when possible and be easy to communicate with. Be approachable.

Aim to be a leader that encourages, inspires and motivates their team to succeed. They win, you win!
