We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jay D$nero. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jay below.
Jay , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I began to learn more about creating music by studying other artists. Watching different interviews, studio vlogs, and even just listening to other artists allowed me to get a blue print and input my own design on the music I create. As far as recording, engineering, and producing, I had to learn through trial and error. I would get into the DAW and try new things seeing what sounded good to me. Along with that I had help from YouTube and watching others give tips and tricks on how to make thing a sound better. The most essential skill I learned was being original and never trying to sound like someone else.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Jay D$nero and I am an artist/ super producer from Jacksonville, FL. I’ve been singing my whole life but began rapping in 2018 when I went to college. I fell in love with going to to the studio and a couple years later I ended up investing in my own studio and began recording myself. I can tap in to any genre of music spanning from rap, hip-hop, trap, RNB, rock, spiritual and many more. I have released numerous projects, singles, and a couple EP’s that can be found on all platforms and I am still striving to take my music to another level. I am apart of a music collective “Blitz The Label” where we are all about giving your all to chase your dreams until you achieve it and beyond. Blitz The Label is different from anyone else because we are group that encompasses thinking and being outside the box. We want to reach everyone with our musical talent so putting us in one category is almost an insult.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist has to be being able to create something that people can feel and relate to. When someone can tell you that your art touched them and made them feel something good or helped them that is the most satisfying thing because you are able to express yourself and end up helping someone else. Another thing would also be inspiring others to continue to pursue their dreams and goals.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal and mission is to be able to wake up everyday and do what I love to do. There is nothing wrong with working but I watched my loved ones work their entire lives just to really start enjoying life to the fullest. You’re going to have to always work but for who? Are you going to work for someone else or yourself? I just feel like why can’t I do what I love and why can’t it be now. Everything does come with patience though. x
