Victoria , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

The inception of LadyVic Glamour Collection was an emotional and passion-driven journey born from the desire to solve my own beauty challenges. As a lover of fashion and beauty, I knew the impact a gorgeous hairstyle could have on a woman’s self-esteem.

My business partner and I observed the limited options in the mark realistic and comfortable wigs. Fueled by our shared vision, we embarked on a mission to create a line of wigs that were not only easy to style and natural-looking but also felt like second skin when worn.

My excitement grew as I realized we were empowering women’s self-confidence through our unique approach. We weren’t just creating another wig line; we were crafting transformative wearable art that would make a difference in women’s lives. This passion and purpose continue to drive us forward as we strive to change the wig game one stunning creation at a time.

Victoria , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m a mom, wife, entrepreneur, and hair enthusiast. My journey began as a little girl in Nigeria, where I discovered my love for hairstyling at the tender age of eight. Fast forward to today, I’m now a versatile hairstylist, custom wig maker, and wig instructor based in Utah, thanks to a remarkable refugee journey with my husband.

At LadyVic Glamour Collection, we’re about unleashing your inner glamour queen with our top-notch glueless wigs. We cater to fabulous women worldwide who crave gorgeous, hassle-free hairstyles that are ready to wear right out of the box.

But here’s the thing: I didn’t just become the best glueless wig maker in Utah overnight. Nope! I started with a cheap sewing machine, broke several, and taught myself how to create wigs during the pandemic. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

My partner and cofounder is my husband. We started as friends, lost contact for a while, and reconnected at a refugee camp in the Benin Republic, where we got married. After moving to the US, he filed for me to join him here, and together, we’ve built LadyVic Glamour Collection and African discount market into its success today.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

Growing up, I was the go-to hair braider in my community, dishing out amazing styles for free. When I moved to Utah with my husband in 2021, I discovered a serious lack of black hairstylists and African grocery stores. So, I rolled up my sleeves and started offering braids and hair extension services to friends and beyond! My hubby and I opened an African and Caribbean beauty supply market.

But I wanted to do more. I educated myself, mastered my skills, and began hand-making custom wigs for clients. In 2020, while beauty businesses were closed during the lockdown, I had to seize that opportunity: I grabbed a sewing machine from Walmart and practiced until I became a wig-making queen.

Now, I teach aspiring hairpreneurs how to master sewing machine and create stunning custom wigs. To date, I’ve made and customized over 500 wigs and counting, bringing glamour and convenience to busy women everywhere. LadyVic Glamour Collection is all about empowering women with ready-to-wear, glueless, high-quality human hair wigs that let their inner beauty shine!
