We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jessica Poole. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jessica below.
Jessica, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
This little business of mine simply began by me having my own pop-up boutique, by being a vendor trying to figure out the best way to put myself out there. Listening to my fellow vendor community we were constantly looking for events to set-up at, ways to promote ourselves and our brands and markets that weren’t all the same. I soon realized I was more passionate about the behind the scenes work that went into everything and wanting to help others than continuing with my boutique. To gain experience, I worked remotely with a California Med Spa on their social media accounts and helped coordinate events. I then moved on to starting up social media accounts for a small town market and later starting and managing social media and events for a local business. With a little experience under my belt, I began talking myself up to venue owners and managers, so that they would take a chance on me and allow me to plan my own small markets or events. This is where I finally had control over helping to showcase vendors and showcase my work. I loved being able to bring my vision to life and having free reign of the overall feel, aesthetic and what soon became my main niche the theme! The theme became a signature part of my work. This level of freedom inspired a different caliber of creativity. I soon had the opportunity to work with a venue who allowed my vision to come to fruition from there everything fell into place. I began doing plenty of market research on anything and everything, whether it is regarding social media, locations, the season, whatever it is there is always a theme and or event to work on and plenty of marketing to promote it. Along the way I have learned so many useful things regarding promoting my events, the brands and still at the heart of it all the vendors and small businesses that I continue to work with. Recently, I have been working with new brands, helping them get up and running with their marketing and working on brand activation events that get them noticed. What makes me most excited about this endeavor is having the ability to help other small businesses. Many businesses have great products, great ideas and provide great service sometimes they just need a little help navigating through popular trends and social media.
Jessica, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
With not much prior knowledge, I dove into the world of events and social media. Over the years the learning has been one of the most rewarding experiences. I now own a full service event planning company and offer social media management for businesses who need help establishing themselves online. I put my whole heart into everything I do so as a perfectionist I tend to take care of every little detail before you have even had a chance to mention it to me. I pride myself in anticipating my clients needs to ensure a smooth and always fun experience.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Fun events that have caught peoples eyes and have drawn them in. Clients and attendees alike know that I love to create exclusive and all inclusive experiences. Being completely transparent and so much networking. Networking is key within my market.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
It may not be large but the audience I have is simply by being genuine with my followers and sticking to my brand. Never compromising who I am or my standards simply to please others has always been huge for me.
