We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Eric Mueller a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Eric, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I want you to do me a favor and think of a skill you wish you had already mastered, an instrument you wish you knew how to play, the book you wish you had written, or the creative project you wish was currently in the works. Now I want you to think of the reasons why you have not yet begun to pursue that particular passion. All of those things coming into your mind right now, although likely rooted in logical thought and real-world obstacles, are not enough to keep you from pursuing a dream that could bring you happiness. What can unlock your mind to think of the endless possibilities right there in front of you and melt away those reasons to not jump in?
I find that my creative thoughts are most untethered while I am running. My mind wanders to a place of big dreams, excitement, and vast possibilities. I love it. While there are many goals I have yet to achieve and milestones to celebrate along my journey, I am at peace when these thoughts enter my mind during a run. The Eric Mueller Show was born because I let my mind dream BIG. I knew that I wanted to create something to inspire others to dream big too. Podcasting is an excellent medium to express yourself to others with relative ease. You only need a phone or computer and access to the internet. That’s it. Well and an idea of course! Just jump into what ignites you. What is it that you can’t go one day without thinking of yourself doing?
Deep down, I fully believe I am destined for great things and exceptional success in this life. You are too. When people say that you can do anything you put your mind to, believe them. When you find yourself thinking of the reasons why you cannot write the book you have always wanted to write, think of all the reasons why you should write it. How many people need to hear your story? What is really holding you back from taking lessons to learn how to play guitar? Who might you inspire when you take the stage to share your music with the world? Learning your craft will take time, dedication, practice, persistence, and confidence. You will find out more about yourself that you ever thought possible, and you will grow into the person you were always meant to be.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
The following resources have positively impacted my entrepreneurial mindset, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking to become a better version of themselves.
-The Power of Fastenal People by Bob Kierlin (book): I love Bob’s leadership style and his mission of bringing out the full potential of his employees. Bob founded Fastenal Company in my hometown of Winona, Minnesota in 1967. It has since grown into a Fortune 500 company with 3,334 locations.
-The GaryVee Audio Experience (podcast): Gary always motivates me with actionable tips to become a better leader and a more successful person.
-Real AF (podcast): No BS mental toughness! If you want to free yourself from excuses and shortcuts, take a listen to Andy’s show. If you really want to turn up the intensity, try the 75 Hard program. I finished it for the first time last summer, and it was so worth it!
-The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone (book): This book shows you the simple formula for achieving big goals. Massive effort. PharmLaw’s rapid expansion across the country from 2 states to 25 states over the past 2 years is an example of putting the 10X Rule into action to exponentially grow a business to its full potential!
-Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (book): This book is a psychological tool for manifesting your goals regarding money and success. You will put it down with a totally different outlook on all goals within your life. This is a one-of-a-kind read for mindset development and dreaming big.
-Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki (book): I attribute much of my current mindset on money, saving, and investing to this book. Robert clearly lays the foundation of actionable steps that lead to financial freedom.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to motivate and empower people to achieve their wildest dreams by helping them develop a confident and persistent mindset. Both of these qualities have been absolutely essential in my journey chasing my big dreams and ambitious goals. I know that there is not a one-size-fits-all mindset that guarantees the manifestation of your dream life, but I do believe there are commonalities across the spectrum of successful people who accomplish grandiose goals. This is where The Success Portfolio within The Eric Mueller Show comes into play. I want to be the go-to resource for people seeking to develop their own personalized mindset for success by providing them with the tools that successful people have proven to be effective.
My unique niche in the entrepreneurial space is my ability to resonate with people who have completed years of traditional schooling and now find themselves wanting to pursue different paths. I have walked this walk myself and share the same feelings that they do. It is never too late to pursue your passions or foster an entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, I have a burning desire to achieve fame as an influential, trustworthy, and genuinely nice person. My ambition to become famous is rooted within my dream to have a profound and widespread impact on the minds of millions of people when it comes to dreaming big and achieving your craziest goals.
