We were lucky to catch up with Brynhild Blottsdottir recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brynhild , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
It was about 4 years ago when I truly felt called to pursue and create a path of creativity and helping others. I had been studying the Runes for 6 years as a Germanic and Anglo-Saxon Heathen and really wanted to start making a difference for people in my studies. Wanting to share the knowledge I had collected over the years and the knowledge passed on to me by mentors and other creators, I really felt I could reach a lot of people with creating Runes, being a Spiritual Guide for others just discovering themselves and holding space for them as they sought themselves.
Brynhild , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a Germanic Seer and Heathen, I know and understand that it can be very difficult to find answers for questions we seek for any spiritual practices or path. I’ve been practicing Heathenry for nearly 11 years and I wanted to start sharing the collective knowledge from that as well as mentors that I have reached out to. I’ve spoken to Women and men from around the world from Sweden to the UK and famous authors in attempt to share to others what I’ve learned.
As a Seer or Seidr I bring to light knowledge to share and Spiritually guide those to find the path that fits them ; I hold space for them as they try to find what suits them the best . If I don’t have an answer, I ask other members of different spiritual practices if they know how to help, Hellenistic, Wiccan , Norse, any other Indo-European culture that might now more than me . I also have extensive knowledge on the History of the Runes and Indo-European cultures.
I read Runes which are a very old form of divination connected to the Germanic/Celtic Bronze age before Rome took over the Rhine in Germany; of a system of symbols that hold different meanings and that which can help connect you internally to yourself and the nature outside of you . I also connect people to their ancestors with the Runes and help them better understand where they come from and that they have spiritual help.
My businesses, White Raven Seer, I also preform Germanic and Norse handfastings as an ordained minister; create and sell Runes and jewelery as well as Books that people need. I also do extensive Runic readings called Yggdrasil layout which gives more information on questions to life.
I often get a lot of clients that have left previous religions seeking to understand themselves better, I give counsel and references to books that might help as well as clarification on a reading they have received because sometimes it is a big process. What sets me apart is that I’m available to people that may not know where to turn when seeking a Norse or Germanic path or Paganism in general. I love being able to hold space and patience as people discover themselves after feeling so lost.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The best thing I’ve learned about gaining and building an audience is, supporting other creators and their content. Being able to share another business on a story ends up helping them but also creating connections in the community. Being more personable online and in videos and really opening up to more opportunities.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Honestly, my main goal that drives me is having recourses more readily available for people that are seeking answers. I read extensively in different subjects and cultures because I want to be able to share those on my pages and with the community that may not know where to find them. I know that I’m still learning and when I first started there wasn’t a lot of available resources to get my hands on . My intention after that was to make sure people could find it easier so they felt less lost or frustrated.
