We were lucky to catch up with Dineshkumar Jayapal recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dineshkumar, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To keep yourself busy and come up with new products every other month.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a landscape, architecture, nature, and wildlife photographer living in Colorado, USA. Being a software engineer with an immense
passion for photography, I pursued a corporate career before starting
my journey as a photographer. I am amazed by the beauty and
wilderness of nature. I want to share those wonders of the world through
my photographs.
In 2013, I was frustrated sitting at my desk and doing the regular software job. I was
looking at the screen and saw a beautiful nature photo. That gave me a thought, will I be
able to take a photo like that?
I immediately took my phone out and opened the gallery app to see the photos I had
taken. Funnily a lot of nature shots to be honest. I was like okay, this is your call.
Maybe a risky one but let’s see how far it goes.
I joined my colleagues with an interest in photography. We started making short
trips over the weekend to take pictures. I realized this was not just a hobby as I
felt at peace and less stressed after each outing and I am so lucky to have
landed in Colorado, a nature photographer’s paradise. After nine years here,
I am selling my photo prints for a living.
Have you ever had to pivot?

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Whenever I feel bad, some random person will say good things about my work, I also had an experience, a customer texted me on Facebook asking for my print which she had seen when she visited colorado. she is from Tennessee. Things like these are the most rewarding aspect of being an artist
