Sheniqua, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
When I think of what matters the most, I think the key to success is finding your passion, investing in yourself, and having a perspective of always learning how to be better at your craft. Consistency has been a major factor in my success.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a single mother of 2 beautiful children. Growing my business I miss a lot of family time with them but they understand mommy has to work. I started my business not knowing what was next but what I did know I I can’t fail because I have my kids to go hard for. I live for my kids but now I can live for me also.
Makeup is a passion for me. I love enhancing women beauty. I have a story but I love hearing my clients story. I love the confidence makeup gives my clients. It’s the best part of my job.
Being a new business has taught me so much about myself. Most of all I learned I have a lot of patience. I also had to accept constructive criticism and not take it personal. It’s definitely made me tougher lol because I’m so emotional.
I’m so proud of myself. I never thought I would be in this place. I have experienced so much hurt in my life. But to finally say I’m happy and this was best thing I could have ever done.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I market heavily on social media platforms. This is a way to show my skill set and the different types of services that someone could book. I am able to educate prospective clients through my page with knowledge about products and techniques for makeup. Word of mouth is about the way that I obtain clientele. I like to give my clients the “Face fabulous experience”. This includes showing my bubbly personality, getting to know my clients on a personal level, and finding a way to give them the beauty confidence they deserve”.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Building my reputation started by being intentional with my clients! I like to provide an elevated service. Prior to their appointment I want to understand the look, the event, and their expectations. I create a vibe Beyond make up! My clients are my walking reputation and I love all my clients who continue to support and refer to me!
