We recently connected with Stephannie Solomon and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephannie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Taking a risk for seeing better in my life and in the lives of others has been worth it.
Stephannie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Stephannie Solomon and I became an author in 1997 after realizing that most of what I was journaling was a part of other people’s reality who desperately wanted advice. After being invited to speak publically, I wanted to share what worked for me during my journey. I realized that my unique voice was desired so in 2009 I began hosting annual author events and planted myself into podcasting in 2010. Currently, I am growing my listening audience on YouTube rather than audio platforms alone.
During the Pandemic of 2020 I became a certified life coach to help others address hurting areas of their lives. I used personal experiences, passion and course enrollments to start Evolve 4Life, LLC and to develop my coaching niches which are family dynamics, forgiveness, and personal empowerment. Whether on www.StephannieBooks.com, Instagram as @StephannieBooks or YouTube @WinningWaysWithStephannie, I want the viewer to experience words that offer help, healing, and hope in their journey towards better.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
I believe that many individuals must first know what they are gifted to do. Pay attention to your history with your gift. Watch the reactions of people to it, observe the opportunities and doors that open because of the gift. Protect the gift and feed your gift by planting yourself in environments that foster support, celebration and growth of your gift. It is our gift that opens doors in different fields. My gift to teach is seen in my writing, coaching, speaking, No matter where I am, it seeps out. We have to pay attention to what works, when it is working and where it is working best. Be deliberate, consistent and committed about appreciating your gift. I have learned that more opportunities avail themselves when we appreciate our gift.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn several ways of thinking and doing things. I founded Conversations With The King Ministries, Inc. in 2000. I had a great, supportive, and indefatigable board. However, life happened in 2013 and I decided to dissolve the incorporation. I had four life transitions happening simultaneously, divorce, empty nest, retirement, and finding a new church home. Unintentionally I started discovering things about me that did not benefit me.
One, I learned that I had abandoned myself and in some instances betrayed myself. I had to forgive myself and unlearn the things that I discovered that led me to those places. I had to unlearn that I needed others to get started again. It is true that no one is an island, but we must first have the drive, strength to press mentally. I had to unlearn what I said to myself that did not serve me. I became intentional about replacing what I said to me and thought about me. This act of intention is ongoing, but at least now I am aware of it. It has made a great difference in my performance, execution and how I show up for me and others.
