We were lucky to catch up with Michael Jeni recently and have shared our conversation below.
Michael, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning how to produce music & write music is something that is forever changing. For me I started learning how to produce music by learning what styles of music I like, the type of beats and what tempo is best for me. That all helps with the writing process. The writing process for me is humming melodies & words. If I’m feeling sad, happy, emotional, I’ll write about it. Usually my melodies and lyrics are based off how the instrumental sounds. To speed up my learning process. I could’ve relied on myself more than others to learn how to produce music. When I first started, I would constantly message others about how to produce, mix, and master, it took a while to hear back, I could’ve just used YouTube. The most essential skill I learned is to take your time never rush music. The only obstacle that stood in my way was me not taking full of advantage of using other sources for information.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice
I feel NFT’S are a great that has been added within the last 2 years. I use NFT’S to gain a more personal relationship with my fans. It’s a great way to offer limited, exclusive songs, art, even videos to your fans that you don’t want to release to the public. I feel NFT’S will be for the future.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being able to create music from a organic space & being able to inspire others. For me I don’t care about the money, or fame that comes with music, if I’m able to inspire others through my music, help them relate to a certain situation whether it’s love or heartbreak, or some type of sadness if I can inspire you, that’s good enough for me. Music always, and will be my outlet to express myself. If I feel down or upset I’ll express it through music. That’s the most rewarding thing for me. I’d rather use music to express what I’m going through. At the same time I’m not stupid or naïve, I choose positivity over a lot of things in my life. Karma is very real. No one is important enough for me to react negatively towards or disturb my energy.
