Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paola Rendon . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Paola, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?

The first time I was paid as a creative was as a content creator. It was a hair brand, they saw my content on Instagram which was very similar to their aesthetic and they were looking to create content for a new product that was about to be launched. It was incredible to me that such a big brand wanted to work with me and that they trusted my creative vision. I got a three-month contract with them that definitely boosted my confidence and help me realize what brands could perceive about me and my content.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Allow me to introduce myself my name is Paola Rendon, Im a Fashion Designer & content creator.

Fashion has always been a significant part of my life, I moved to Miami 6 years ago to pursue my career in design. I believe that fashion is a powerful means of self expression and a way to showcase one’s unique personality and style. With my brand by Paola Rendon we offers elegant pieces for a modern woman who likes to look sophisticated but knows that dressing also comes with ethical responsibilities. So I like to think that each piece is an extension of this message.

It is a brand to which I have put all my heart and it is just starting. My main focus is to make pieces that reflect transparency at the time of their production and throughout all the process. We produce small quantity pieces and everything is made responsibly in Latin America.

In addition to being a designer, I’m also a content creator. I thrive on expressing my creativity through various mediums such as photography, videography, and social media. I have a passion for storytelling and love to engage with my audience through captivating content. I add personal growth content as well about topics like mental health which also has impacted my life and career. Weather is crafting summer look ideas, creating visually stunning images or producing inspirational videos or captions for my viewers.

In summary, I think it’s very important to carry the message that you can contribute from whatever industry you’re in. Many people think that the fashion industry is cold and irrelevant but the truth is that the clothes we wear represent everything we are, our personality and our values.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

The start of my line has being my biggest passion project to date. At the beginning my biggest fear was not having the resources both economical and technical to start. Throughout this journey I realize that you don’t have to have everything figured out, that the first thing you need is motivation, the right mindset and the drive to make your dreams come true. Resources will slowly become available, as crazy as it sounds, when you dedicate you heart and soul to making it happen. Don’t let the lack of resources stop from beginning your journey.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?

Nowadays there are plenty of method to access information. Even with the introduction of AI you have access to it within seconds, I truly believe the most important thing is to educate yourself in every aspect. Expand the range of your education topics beyond your industry as it has impact in every decision you will have to make. I spend most of my time watching documentaries, listening to podcasts, taking entrepreneurial books, and surrounding myself with like-minded people who are more than welcome to share their knowledge and experiences.
