We recently connected with Cynthia Lint and have shared our conversation below.
Cynthia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
Let me tell you about my life, I always loved film and photography. My daughter Sydney Lint and I decided to open an acting/ film company named “Film and Talent Productions”, where we produce, photograph, film and teach classes for 10 years. My daughter Sydney and I decided to write, produce and direct a horror/drama film, “The Chime”, which we completed in two full years with our determination. During that time I also taught Spanish in public school. All my life I loved the creative arts. When I was younger I used to draw people portraits. I remember when I got my first camera I was 16 years old. I remember taking my camera everywhere I went. I remember taking photos of everyone I saw on my way. I love to capture different moments that people have in life. When I moved to the United States I started going to college to get my degree as a Spanish teacher. I always remembered I wanted to take photography but everyone told me that was not a good career to support myself. So, I decided to become a teacher which I loved also. I taught 25 years of Spanish but in those 25 years I was a photographer and videographer as a part time for 15 years. I enjoyed my career as a teacher but when I made the switch to become a full photographer and videographer, I knew I was currently doing my dream job. Now I am a photographer, videographer, producer, director, and screenwriter. My first film known for “The Chime”.
Cynthia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
After filming short films, I decided to focus more in photography. Filming is fun but it takes so much time and money to produce. I still love film but now I can concentrate more in my photography and not depend on many people I needed for filming. Fotografia Fantastica became my logo 15 years ago where I wanted to reach Spanish people but instead I reach a lot of influencers because my daughter is popular on social media . I work directly for my daughter Sydney Lint. Now I can say I am the person behind the camera. I follow her and take all her photos, I edit all her youtube and video-graph all her social media content. I get reached out to and work with others influencers as well. All my work that I get booked for now is through social media. Most of my work are bikinis shoots. I travel all around the world and love my job as a photographer and video-grapher.
How did you build your audience on social media?
As a photographer you need to grow your social media. The more you post the more your audience and clients will grow. I post every day and have at least two to three stories a day. I tag all my clients and I make sure to keep up with social media. I like to do collaborations with clients if they agree. As a photographer I make sure to insure that my clients are comfortable when I post photos or videos of them. Make sure to insure yourself and the client for social media content.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My partner in life, I meet her when she arrive in my life. My daughter Sydney Lint, she is my mini me. Loves photography and film. All stared when she wanted to be a model. She was 13 years old. I took her to different agencies where they wanted so much money for headshots and demo reels. I applied to work with an agency in Baltimore where I was a photographer and videographer for three years while my daughter was taking acting/modeling classes. I learned so much about the agency that I decided to open my own one “Film and Talent Productions.” I worked with my agency for many years but when covid hit, I lost a lot of actors. After covid I concentrated on working with my daughter as her photographer for her social media and we have been working very well. First I love to spend time with my daughter and love to travel with her and make sure to keep her safe all times.
