We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nydia GanjaClergy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nydia below.
Alright, Nydia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
As an entrepreneur in the cannabis health and wellness space, I’ve faced countless defining moments. These moments remind me of my “why”, and bring me back to the pivotal point that drove me to participate in this industry.
For me, that moment arrived five years ago amidst a chaotic schedule of working long days, raising a young child on my own, managing estate probate, purchasing my first home, and bosses who didn’t seem to understand or care. I ended up hospitalized in the same facility I worked in, receiving vague diagnoses from doctors who simply advised medication and surgical intervention. It was clear that the very industry I’d dedicated myself to was failing me miserably.
But this experience led me back to the cannabis industry, where I found a reason to keep going. Though the path was uncertain and untraveled, I refused to give up. And after five years of hard work, I’ve built a successful business in the ancillary, non-plant-touching area of the cannabis industry that crosses state lines and borders.
As a small business owner, there have been countless times I’ve wanted to throw in the towel. But my dream is so well-defined and my passion so strong that I refuse to give up. And if my journey has taught me anything, it’s that success is possible even in the face of adversity.
Nydia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi there, I’m Nydia—a driven single mom, homeschooler, and guide who’s making immense waves. Formerly a physical therapist at top hospitals in the country, I had a life-changing realization that shifted my perspective: the power of plants. It catalyzed my departure from the healthcare industry and birthed my company, UR Wellness LLC, where I’m a minister and certified health coach.
Through my empowering community events and dynamic coaching sessions—from forest walks to psychedelic resets, intuitive readings, and more—I facilitate transformational experiences that amplify my clients’ potential. And man, have I seen tremendous progress. People who’ve weaned off pharmaceuticals found the loves of their lives, lost over 40 pounds, tapped into their why, and awakened to their spirituality.
My goal is to empower others to activate their inner healer, with the tools and menus necessary to keep them committed and accountable, long after our paths have crossed. It’s a mission that’s kept me going through the countless those-times-I-wanted-to-give-ups, carving a place in the cannabis industry that crosses state lines and borders.
But hey, I won’t give up on my dream—because nothing beats the satisfaction of seeing the people I work with thrive.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
When everything in my life came crashing down, I was forced to unlearn everything I knew and rethink the direction I was going. As a single mom, working full-time, handling my late mother’s estate, and purchasing a house, self-care was the last thing on my to-do list. That’s when the cannabis industry caught my attention and I made a bold move to enter the market. I thought finding success would be straightforward, but boy was I in for a surprise. This leafy plant has taught me more about myself and what it takes to be an entrepreneur and culturally than I ever thought possible.
As I approach my third year in business, I’ve unlearned countless beliefs that held me back and created endless opportunities for growth. I’ve flipped my beliefs upside down about spirituality, fear, and the origins of humanity, and I’ve learned the power of asking for money and recognizing my worth. I’ve built my own website, taken countless coaching sessions, and ventured into the unknown, all while doing things my way.
I’ve had tough times along this journey and learned some hard truths. I know now that no one else will ever be as committed to my dream as I am, and if I falter, others will too. But that’s what life is truly about – finding your passion and staying true to it, even when others lose faith.
I’m living proof that success is achievable, even when life throws you a curveball. It’s about being a student of life, taking bold risks, and staying true to yourself every step of the way.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Looking back, I wish I had made the switch to this path sooner. Working with cannabis opened up a new world of herbs, plants, fungi, and techniques that brought me closer to my roots in a way I never dreamed possible.
My transition from physiotherapist to ganja pioneer and mentor isn’t as strange as it seems. As a student, my insatiable thirst for knowledge challenged me to ask deeper questions that pushed the limits in my field. With cannabis as my guide, I discovered the power of alternative and Eastern medicine. I integrated these practices into treatment plans that enable my clients to move past trauma and experience deeper, more fulfilling lives – just as I am living today.
