Jillian , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?

Learning I have a purpose after my son became my ANGEL

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Jillian Xavier, CEO and founder of DREGLO Cannabis Testing Lab. I am the first woman in the City of Long Beach to acquire a social equity cannabis testing lab license. I am in the process of still getting things built out but is seeking to raise capital. DREGLO Cannabis Testing Labs – DREGLO LLC is a women-owned business who is changing the game to create all natural skin and haircare products, as well as serving the local community with a Cannabis Testing Lab.

Have you ever had to pivot?

When I got into the Cannabis industry I wanted to bring Caribbean treats to the market. After searching for real estate for years. And being unsuccessful I sat in my van and literally saw my self running with everyone. And my spirit was like do you want to keep running with the crowd? Or are you going pivot and I started looking into other licenses type. What I realized is every other license type cannot get on the legal market without testing. So even if I do manufacturing I would still have to pay to test the product then put it on the market to hope it sells. I decided I want my money upfront so I chose to test the plant.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I’m also a activist for women in cannabis, I’m at the City Hall meetings fighting for the grant funding the state gave to local governments to help social equity entrepreneurs. A month after signing my lease the city reduced the amount off grant funding creating detrimental reliance. As a founding member of LBSEE- Long Beach Social Equity Entrepreneurs we all rallied and still is to get back funding.
