We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Angela Izzo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Angela below.
Angela, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
When I travel, I find myself immersed in a world of artistic creation. Vacations, for me, are not just moments of relaxation but essential sources of inspiration. As a fortunate photographer, I have the privilege of bringing my creativity to life wherever I go. Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a group show with the (R)evolution Collective in Geneva, Switzerland. It was an easy decision to embark on this journey from Los Angeles, as it allowed me to not only showcase my work but also become involved in hosting events and transforming the gallery space. Motivated by this experience, I decided to extend my stay and explore Italy, my family’s homeland. This trip became more than a vacation; but a chance to tell visual stories and create art. I reached out to Lomography Magazine, who generously provided me with rolls of film so I can document the experience, see the world, and have a blast while doing it!

Angela, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From a young age, I have been enamored with performance and visual art. The influence of MTV music videos sparked a fire within me, propelling me towards my calling as a music video filmmaker. But my creative journey began even earlier, as a child exploring the realms of painting, dancing, and design. As I grew older, my passion for music led me to sneak into shows, capturing the magic with a camera in hand. Eventually, I ventured across the country, studying photojournalism and immersing myself in the vibrant art and music scene of Southern California. Through documenting local artists and musicians, directing music videos, and working as a photographer, I found my own path. What sets me apart is my love for utilizing multiple cameras and tools, particularly embracing the allure of analogue photography. It is through these mediums that I seek to travel to different places, immerse myself in diverse stories, and create art that resonates with people’s hearts.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What has really helped me build my reputation is simply showing up and doing an amazing job! I love bringing visions to life and collaborating! I value long-lasting relationships with my clients and strive to be a reliable and fast-working artist. I’m always open to your ideas and love creating something special together.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The Chariot tarot card really speaks to me on a personal level. It captivates the spirit of overcoming conflicts and forging ahead in a positive direction. It reminds me of the importance of perseverance and hard work to achieve success. In my life and business, I really hold onto this belief. I never give up, no matter how tough the road gets. I’ve had my fair share of challenges and setbacks, but that’s just a part of life’s journey. I stay committed, knowing that with dedication and focus, I can overcome any obstacle and achieve anything I set my heart out to accomplish.
