We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bridget Ford a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Bridget , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
“Strength Beneath the Scars” is a novel that uses about 70 poems and 4 short stories to motivate others to persevere through the fear of failure. Each poem is organized to tell a story from the beginning to the end of triumph in an unforeseen circumstance. Depression, suicidal ideations, and anxiety are real and can be disabling. I have received many messages highlighting the ways “Strength Beneath the Scars” have assisted the reader in overcoming current situations in life. One story, in particular, is a message I received from a woman who attached pictures of the highlighted phrases in the novel and an abundance of gratitude for sharing my story and allowing the reader to see the other side. She voiced that the poetry in the book almost perfectly mirrors her emotions in her current situation. She states, “This book about got me in tears already! There’s so much in your story that I can relate to! And still going through… this is Divine Intervention for me right now. “.
She sent me many poems that contained highlighted phrases from the novel, such as:
* “Acceptance is the drug that keeps me still despite the pain”
* “If your qualities became your anatomy Would your value be more or less?”
* “When you give into the lie you become absent from reality. You ignore the signs and obey your heart. You wait and you manipulate your mind to believe you don’t need trust, Though a life without trust is an empty one.”
She even sent a photo of the card that includes her notes from the novel in concordance with perseverance and faith in God’s plan. This was beyond an amazing moment, and I am beyond grateful that she was able to use my words and phrases to give her the boost she needed to keep going.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

It addresses love, pain, and heartbreak in a way that will place your mind, body, and soul into a beautiful moment when time stood still. She is currently writing her third novel, “The Blind Judge: The Discrimination of African Americans Continues” which discusses unconscious bias among African American men and women. Ultimately, she began writing poetry at 16, but due to life’s challenges, she neglected writing for years. She enjoys writing poems that depict a story. She uses imagery and metaphors to place you in a different setting, allowing you to see the world from a different lens. Writing is a way to have a voice. It provides the reader and author a space to be heard.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Absolutely. Utilizing various resources to broaden my knowledge in poetry, business, marketing, and literature allows me to better understand the industry. I have attended multiple courses, read articles, watched videos, and attended seminars to enhance my business and marketing knowledge. There isn’t a particular author or leader I have used to build a foundation; however, I am always open to learning new things and building my business by absorbing information from a plethora of credible resources.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
At 17 years old, I lost almost everything I knew and loved. I was lost in a world that was very unforgiving. A lost sheep with no guidance is just a lost sheep. I wasn’t sure which direction to turn in, but I was blessed to have the opportunity to live with a loved one in a new city. Each day was difficult. I cried because of the moments I observed and moments that labeled me the victim. I was grateful for another chance at life but broken by the stolen moments that came before. Each night I cried myself to sleep, allowing music to put my body to rest. When the sun awoke, my tears ceased and I put one foot before the other to meet my goals. Every day may not be full of sunshine, most days came with rain, but my drive stayed constant despite the storm and pain. Almost 13 years later, I have been blessed to go beyond my dreams and create a new reality. Resilience allows you to exceed the odds and set new ambitions.
