I am the owner and photographer behind Simplicité Boudoir, the premier luxury boudoir photography studio in Clarksville, Tennessee! I built this business with the core mission of empowering women and reminding them of their beauty and power.

At Simplicité Boudoir, we hold a deep belief that every woman deserves to feel beautiful, sexy, and sensual. We are passionate about fostering self-love and self-worth because we firmly believe that these qualities should be the norm and we shouldn’t be okay with anything less! Hi, my name is Danielle. I am the owner and photographer behind Simplicité Boudoir, a luxury boudoir photography studio located in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Two years ago, I started photographing boudoir full-time, and let me tell you – I’m never going back! I was instantly hooked on the thrill of reminding women of their beauty, worth, and power. There is literally nothing more rewarding that journeying alongside my clients as they discover more beautiful parts of themselves, reclaim their confidence, and absolutely unleash all the sexiness that existed within them all along! Boudoir is nerve-racking as hell – trust me, I get it. But this experience is meant to be fun and empowering! I’ll walk you through the entire process, step-by-step, so you feel comfortable and confident walking into my studio on the day of your photoshoot!

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

Boudoir photography, photography in general really, was a side hustle for me for quite some time. Prior to being a photographer full-time, I worked in social work full-time. I was a child welfare social worker for four years before switching career paths. COVID helped push me along, making photography a side hustle to my full-time job. Honestly, I am so grateful that it did because I would never want to do anything else!

I started my full-time photography journey by photographing everything under the sun: weddings, engagements, maternity, and families. It wasn’t until I did my first boudoir photo shoot that I knew exactly what I wanted to do full-time. Boudoir was a type of photo shoot that brought me a lot of joy, personally and creatively. I loved working with one woman at a time, really being able to develop that close, personal relationship with each client.

Niching down was really a turning point for my business too. It helped me focus on what I wanted and where I wanted to grow and expand in my business. With continued education and growth, my business has really seen substantial growth. Continuing to refine the client experience has been the most important piece of the puzzle though. To me, my clients are everything and I want to be able to provide an experience for them that makes them feel cared for, valued, and renewed.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

Being a boudoir photographer is an incredibly rewarding profession, as it holds within it the transformative power to uplift and empower my clients in remarkable ways. Through the art of capturing intimate and sensual portraits, I have the privilege of witnessing the profound transformation that takes place within individuals as they embark on their boudoir journey. It is a unique experience that goes beyond the mere act of taking photographs, delving deep into the realm of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and self-love.

Boudoir photography provides a safe and nurturing space for individuals to embrace their vulnerabilities, shed self-doubt, and celebrate their true essence. Many of my clients approach their sessions with apprehension, unsure of their own beauty or feeling disconnected from their bodies. However, as we progress through the session, I witness a remarkable shift in their demeanor. The camera becomes a conduit for their self-expression, allowing them to explore and redefine their perceptions of themselves. It is a powerful tool that helps them see beyond societal standards and embrace their unique beauty, flaws, and all.

The transformative power of boudoir photography lies not only in the physical transformation that occurs through styling, makeup, and wardrobe choices, but also in the emotional and psychological journey that unfolds. As I guide my clients through the process, I witness a blossoming of self-confidence and self-assurance. It is an honor to witness their self-perception evolve, as they recognize their inherent worth and beauty, independent of external validation.
