We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eduardo Rubin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eduardo below.
Eduardo, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
My skills as a Coach is something that accompanies me in any other activity that I develop. This is how my clients in the real estate business benefit from my listening skills and my ability to ask questions and understand.
Usually in this business there is no time and Clients end up adjusting to what their Agent presents them; Well, I like to work on the needs of my Clients and not on mine. I know this may sound somewhat utopian, but believe me it makes a big difference when it comes to interacting. It is true that the process takes more time, but the results are magnificent!
This is not something new for me, I have been doing it since I was young, when working for my own advertising agency in Argentina.
As a Coach my Coachee also benefit from my experience in the business world. And there is nothing more stimulating than serving others and being rewarded for it.
Eduardo, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The road usually does not have a straight line but it is always revealing to look back and connect the events. From my experience at Citibank Argentina, I can say that it was a school of quality customer service. In fact, I was an instructor in service quality training programs.
When I decided to jump into the abyss and become an entrepreneur, founding Argentato & Rubin, a Marketing Services agency, we ended up with my partner basing our task on a motto: “The Agency on your same path” putting on the table the idea that you could be creative and listen customers’ needs at the same time.
When it came time for photography to be able to express myself creatively, I didn’t know that I would end up doing a series of books about cities: “The City Voyeur” turned out to be a monumental editorial project, which is still alive, despite having finished 9 books. Then came the exhibitions in several countries, on three continents to end up understanding that the whole secret lies in human interaction, in contact.
That is why when I was able to dedicate time to certify myself as a Coach and obtain my license as a Realtor, I have understood that the difference is made by people and the best results arise from the quality of the interaction.
Mistakes have always been my great teacher and successes have been a reward.
Currently I share my hours and my passion between my projects: I have published my first book of short stories in Spanish: “Manoseados” -available on amazon- that has generated a great impact among readers; My work as a Realtor is focused on helping individuals find those projects that are relevant to them; As a Coach, be attentive and listen to be able to accompany my Coachees, both in terms of giving them personal support and in their businesses, and I have recently added my collaboration as a Coach for a platform (codoacodo.coach) that provides support to family members of children with special needs. A formidable initiative to provide support to families of children with functional diversity.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Usually we find ourselves trying to impose ideas on our work teams. But what would happen if we trusted the team’s ability to find its way? What would happen if we start listening to them more, instead of pretending that they listen to us?
It is true that the road to results initially seems to be longer. But believe me that well-worked teams have enough emotional intelligence to face any task, make it their own, and achieve results.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
When we were young, we used a material in our training programs, which made reference to the words of Doctor Viktor Frankl. He talked about tolerance and persistence; He talked about a full life and was a man who had been held captive in concentration camps.
Then I was able to read “Man’s Search for Meaning” and all that became flesh in me.
Possibly it is a somewhat old text, but full of vital concepts.
