We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Demetra K. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Demetra , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe it takes hard work and dedication. In addition, I believe in the hustle and grind for every step that most people will not see to get to my success point. Once I reach my success point I reach for another. The hard work continues immediately after your next step. Furthermore, I believe you need to have a strong mindset of completely giving your all and continuously making the necessary sacrifices.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Demetra owner of Visible Glow Aesthetics. I started in the beauty industry by providing eyelash extension services 4 years ago. Recently, I graduated from cosmetology school to become an Esthetician. I will provide facials, body wax services, lashes, and brow services. I believe what sets me apart for others is my dedication to ensuring my clients are provided the best service. I want to everyone to know that Visible Glow Aesthetics provides services for all of your skin care needs, by customizing care for your face and body. We have a strong commitment to providing excellent service to all clients.
Any advice for managing a team?
After being a manager for several years my best advice has always been to lead by example. You want your team to see you as a true leader that they can follow. Having effective communication is important in managing a team to ensure everyone is on the same page. Also, maintaining high morale is key to successfully managing a team. Always celebrate the wins, show your employees appreciation, and always provide feedback that’s useful.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Self promoting and marketing is very important. Word of mouth has been a very important marketing tool for my business. Having a client recommend you for their family, friends and associates is very fulfilling.
