We were lucky to catch up with Anthony Church recently and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I always feel I started at the right time fresh out of high school. I think if I had started any sooner, I wouldn’t have been able to build up the discipline needed to stick with it and probably would’ve given up. I also feel if I would’ve continued to put it off and keep waiting that I would have never begun in the first place so to me it all happened when it was supposed to!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Sure! So, I’m a music producer and podcast host out of northeast Ohio. I began producing in 2016 mostly within the Hip-Hop and R&B genres and started a music-based podcast interview series called “The Proven Knowledge Podcast” in 2020.
I work mostly with Independant artists who are either just starting out or looking to achieve a new style. I work on custom material and also provide pre-made beats and other production services as well.
My biggest attribute to the artists I work with is not only helping them achieve their desired end sound but also just keeping the personal touch involved in the process. I feel a lot of producers might be too hands off especially if they’re working remotely with an artist. I’ve always found that just offering your time and energy to them and finding other ways to help out can go a long way towards building strong working relationships that can continue to grow overtime!
If you’re looking to work with me, I think the biggest factor is just making sure we’re on the same page and want similar things. It all starts with a conversation just to see if we’re in the right headspace to achieve whatever goals we have for the song or project.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
For me it’s the fact that music I feel is my true purpose regardless of what kind of monetary gain I get from it. No matter what I still wake up every day with the same attitude of enjoying the process and creating tracks out of love for the craft and not because anyone told me to do it. I always look at that to be the driving force for why I continue on even through tough days when things might not be so easy. If you love something enough, you’ll always make time to commit to it and keep it involved in your everyday life!
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I feel there’s very much a lack of real respect from the general public on the importance of art and creative industries. To me it’s always undervalued and usually underpaid which is crazy to think about since art is incorporated into every key part of the human experience and is relied upon by major companies to market their products. It really is what makes us unique and gives us true purpose no matter if you’re a creator or consumer, so I feel it just needs to be taken a lot more seriously than it is. Who knows if that day will ever come but I think slow and steady progress to help the cause by sharing, investing and lending a hand to artists is a step in the right direction.
