Araceli , appreciate you joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?

My social media is my work! I manage my own social media account and I dedicate a lot of time and effort into growing my following! I decided to run my own page because starting out it was the only option with such little revenue. But as I dove in head first and became good at it. That would be my advice to other business owners that choose to manage their own accounts, is to dedicate the time and effort into growing your following!

Araceli , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My social media account is all about my family, and travel! I use my account to promote products for myself, or family members. I starred doing this right as the pandemic started, and it was an easier transition as brands were putting more effort into promoting their brands. For anyone wanting to try and do the same thing, right now is a great time to start, as sales for companies are slowing, they are looking to promote.

How did you build your audience on social media?

The best advice I can give to those trying to build and audience, is to be consistent. Support others, and in return they will support you.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

At first, my social media was just a hobby for me. I had no idea I could make money from it. But then I managed to create a following, and had brands reaching out to me wanting me to promote their products. With a lesser following, it required me to reach out to brands directly, asking to collaborate. I could see this being very hard, or embarrassing to some, but as your account grows, the tables turn, and you soon have brands reaching out to you for collaborations!
