We recently connected with Jonathan Roberts and have shared our conversation below.
Jonathan , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I’m happy to be a creative most of the time, but it does have its humbling moments that make you feel that this isn’t what you weren’t meant to do. As far as working a regular job that’s something i never wanted to do.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a 25 year old musician born in Austin Texas, but was raised mostly in San Antonio. I started writing song lyrics when i was 14 and started recording and mixing my own music since i was 17. Since then I’ve been on and off when it came to making music due to life but since the beginning of 2022 I have consistently and genuinely made a push to being a musician. Along the way I started a media platform called 210RapDaily mainly focused on giving smaller artists a bigger platform through opportunities and knowledge.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
The best thing anyone can do is invest into the artistic community. Whether it’s a retweet, like, buying concert tickets and streaming a song. Not a lot of artist have a solid support system to make it seem like what they are doing is worth it. There’s nothing better when someone is genuinely supporting you by streaming your music, coming to your shows, or buying your merchandise cause it help with the mental barrier of you running nowhere at all. There are plenty of talented local artist who have industry quality music that people have never heard of. I know a lot of people who would make Spotify editorial playlists if the A&R’s would actually focus on finding and developing new talent. There’s artist out here with 100 monthly Spotify listeners but making music on par with artist with a full label backing.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Right now i have short term goals that I’m checking off such as get to a number of instagram following and tailoring my content to the average consumer. Another one is getting visuals for my music out as well. A long term goal is being paid from being a creative to where i can do it full time
