Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Coach Kb. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Coach Kb, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2022, Coach Kb lost her dream job and was unemployed for 9 months. Depression hit her very hard, but she changed her mindset and decided to do something for herself. She decided to jump into entrepreneurship and create her own business, Ready to Live Coaching. Ready to Live Coaching started as a mindset academy that helps women release fear and turn their burning desires into reality. Still battling depression after losing her job, not really having the income to sustain life, and not to mention a new business. She discovered creativity and was physically able to see how introducing creativity can heal your body and your mind. Soap-Making was her creative outlet, and what took her out of her dark place. Thinking as a true mindset coach, she thought “If this can bring me out of a dark place, what will it do for the World? What will it do for women? What will this do for my young women who battle mental issues at a higher rate? Coach Kb set out a mission to be an example for all Black and Brown women suffering from some form of mental illness. With a passion for change and the therapeutic nature of soap-making birthed Ready to Live Soaps. Since then, Coach Kb has rebranded Ready to Live Coaching and has been on a mission to help women turn their creativity into a thriving business. Since her start, she has helped 33 Black and Brown women start a creative style business. She has a goal this year to reach 250 Women and help them take that step. She was honored this year as a “100 Women to Know in America 2023 recipient” for her work. Coach Kb has started speaking at local high schools speaking to young women. She is on a mission to lead by example and break down barriers for all creative style businesses.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Ready to Live Soaps, was an idea that I had after losing my six-figure dream job. I went through a bit of depression, after being unemployed for 9 months. Through my sad days, my mate reminded me that I had purchased some soap-making supplies a year prior that I never touched. Soap-making was the creative outlet that I needed to take me out of a dark place. Being the Mindset Manifestation coach I am, I thought if this helped me, wouldn’t it help others? I wiped my tears and made a decision to live for myself and to help as many people as I could. I decided not to go back to Corporate America and put all that hard work and passion into my businesses. Ready To Live Soaps was born. I combined Mindset Coaching with Soap Making. I have been booked consistently since I opened my location in Castleberry Hill in November 2022. My Interactive Soap Making Experience has been a hit here in Atlanta with customers from all over coming to the experience. I went from working out of my kitchen to my own studio in less than 6 months. I am now showing other women how to create a successful business from a passion project.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I suffered a stroke in 2012, the day after my 30th birthday. Then suffered a TIA in 2013 and 2014. Before these health scares, I had just become a newly single mother after my marriage failure, raising 4 kids on my own. I was working 3 jobs, one as a college recruiter, a call center rep, and a waitress. I was also going through a divorce and trying to keep on a brave face for everybody. I was ready to give up but I knew I could not for my kids. During physical therapy, I had my therapist line up all of my stilettos so I could look at them. I would tell myself each day that I will walk in those again. I did not know I was manifesting until my mom said one day, keep manifesting baby, and I decided to learn all about manifestation.m I learned how to incorporate manifestations into my daily life through several techniques, one being the gratitude wheel. I created a wheel of things to be grateful for, or should be and I speak those thoughts and feelings every day. These are some of the same techniques I use to coach my clients. Pounding the pavement I turned my life around, I started reading books like The Instant Millionaire and The Secret. From then on, I realized the importance of one’s mindset, which led me to change my outlook on life. I have dedicated my life to others by working on several initiatives that not only encourage me to do better but also empower others to strive and never give up. I started a business called Mommy’s Chance, where I help pregnant teens and young moms rise amid adversities. Ready to Live Soaps, is a first-of-its-kind interactive soap-making experience, infusing mindset shifting with the creativity of soap-making to further enhance mental health and wellbeing by promoting creativity and inspiring a positive mindset shift while crafting handmade soap. I am also the owner of Ready to Live Coaching, where we help women use their passions, and mindset to create a thriving business, “I want women to remove fear, step out of their comfort zones, and create a millionaire mindset. It has not been easy for women, which is why I aim to make it less difficult through my businesses,” As someone intimately privy to live’s harsh realities, I seek to become people’s beacon of hope. Through my hard work, I strive to be a catalyzing force in the years to come.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
All of my capital came from my credit cards, savings and sells. I believed in my vision, and still do. I know funding is coming, and we are going to grind until we do.
