Ralph, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I started dancing at a young age and it was the main thing that i would excel in. It’s my passion , my Hobby, my life. It wasn’t until my junior year of high school i decided to go and make into a career. I started doing my first stage performances around that time and i had this joy and i Instantly knew this was what i wanted to do.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I believe one thing that definitely sets me apart from others is my infinite drive of it just improving in all aspects of not just dance but also life. I believe that everyday we are constantly evolving and our brain produce knew ideas everyday. So it it fuels me to push and execute my ideas because I don’t want to waste them. Having that plus the love and passion for dance is what set me apart
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Giving us more and better opportunities! Being a dancer is hard when it comes to finding the right jobs. Fining the right job that will equally give the right amount of exposure to work with other talents or even better or higher rates. Having a better and safe environment to showcase our work publicly to be able to send out powerful message that can also inspire and uplift the community. Also if there were ways to increase endorsements and sponsorship because dancers like myself are athletes. We train like athletes and perform like athletes.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
having a solid foundation of faith and dedication. With this career it’s easy to feel like you aren’t progressing anywhere because of the amount of work that needs to get done. Also consistently reminding yourself that everything will come in the time that it’s supposed to come for you. Not to compare your work ethic and accomplishments to others. Understanding that you’ll run across a lot individuals that may come off egotistic so having to stay compose and having a strong character and positive character. It’s hard work but character will get you farther than your skills and i Stand by this.
