We recently connected with Rahmad Hawkins and have shared our conversation below.
Rahmad, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear from you about what you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry and why it matters.
In my industry, there is a lot of room for improvement, but I strongly believe that keeping things simple, nurturing meaningful relationships, and maintaining work-life balance are the most vital aspects.
As I write my book, I continue to emphasize these themes. I’ve noticed that many companies tend to complicate things, making life more challenging for everyone involved. Instead, we should focus on simplifying processes and procedures to make work easier and more enjoyable for employees.
Moreover, building lasting relationships is crucial to creating a strong culture of unity and cohesiveness. This, in turn, enhances the client experience and strengthens relationships with them.
Finally, we must not forget the importance of work-life balance. Some employers tend to disregard that their employees have lives and families outside of work, burdening them with demands and expectations after hours. This negatively impacts morale, culture, and the overall experience of both employees and clients. Let’s strive for a better work-life balance to create a happier, healthier work environment for all.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a technical project manager, I’m passionate about enhancing the employee and client experience by optimizing workflows and streamlining processes. It’s an honor to have been recognized as a top 100 customer success leader globally, and I’m thrilled to apply my expertise to help others.
In addition to my professional pursuits, I’m currently editing my self-help book, which draws upon my personal and corporate experiences to inspire readers to believe in themselves over fear. Throughout my career, which has spanned large corporations, mid-sized companies, and start-ups, I’ve identified recurring themes that can assist individuals at any stage of their careers.
My diverse background adds to the richness of my experiences. As a 32-year-old father of four, I’ve been married for 12 years to my wife, who hails from Mexico, while I’m originally from Buffalo, NY. In addition to my family life, I’m also an author and have even landed movie roles, including a part in the iconic Black Panther movie. At one point, I even pursued a career in music and as a top 100 thought leader in customer success worldwide across all continents, I’m an influencer on LinkedIn who can relate to people from all walks of life.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I’ve experienced a pivotal moment in my life where I had to make a tough decision. At one point, I was working relentlessly, always available and present wherever the action was, which led to countless
new opportunities. However, it came at a cost – my family life was suffering. I realized that the demands of my job were not beneficial for my loved ones, and I needed to make a change.
In that moment, I took a step back and decided to pivot to a role that was less demanding and offered a better work-life balance. I had to prioritize what truly mattered – my family. It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. And looking back, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I learned the hard way that success shouldn’t come at the expense of our personal lives. It’s important to find a balance and to remember what truly matters in life. By putting my family first, I not only strengthened my personal relationships, but I also found that I was more productive and fulfilled in my career. So don’t be afraid to prioritize what’s most important to you, and remember that success isn’t just about career achievements – it’s about finding harmony and happiness in all aspects of life.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I’ve discovered a winning strategy that has brought me great success in my career – and it’s all about giving my absolute best in every aspect of my job. I believe that by being kick butt at my position and putting forth my utmost effort, I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
But it’s not just about hard work and dedication – it’s also about building strong relationships and being true to my word. I’ve found that by using my interpersonal skills to cultivate connections with my colleagues, clients, and partners, I can create a more collaborative and supportive work environment. And when I make a promise, I always strive to honor it – even if it means stretching myself beyond my usual responsibilities.
By following this strategy, I’ve been able to achieve great things in my career and make a positive impact on those around me. And I believe that anyone can adopt this mindset and approach to achieve their own success. So go ahead and give it your all, build those relationships, and always honor your word – the sky’s the limit!
