We were lucky to catch up with Sandra Chahayed recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sandra , thanks for joining us today. The more we talk about good leadership the more we think good leadership practices will spread and so we’d love for you to tell us a story about the best boss you’ve had and what they were like or what they did that was so great?
in my honest opinion My Greatest Boss is myself. No 0ne will have your best interest at heart the way you would. But I would have to say my greatest mentor is my Dad.
My Dad came to untied states in the early 80’s with a wife and two kids. Didn’t speak a word of English he didn’t even have a college degree. With a good heart and the desire to build a better life for his family he proved hard work pays off. He is the most successful Person I ever meet. He wakes up every day at 5am and doesn’t come home till the evening. The words take a break doesn’t mean anything to him. He is always pushing himself to be the best he can. He is self taught on how to run a very successful business. He taught himself how to read, write , drive and run a business in a country that was not his birth place. From him I learned that if you want anything in life you have to work hard for it. In anything you do put your whole heart into it and keep pushing no matter how hard it gets.

Sandra , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Becoming a florist wasn’t my first career choice. I wanted to be a and still do a surgical trauma Doctor. Helping others is a passio0n of mine. I was looking for work after high school and got hired at a flower shop to clean and answer phones. From there I developed another passion that is flowers. I am self taught as florist and business owner. Seeing my work bring happiness and joy during the good and bad times. That is what drives my passion to keep going and be the best I can. Been a florist for 18 plus years and don’t how signs of stopping.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective way to grow your client list is treating each customer with Kindness. Any flower arrangement I send out is thought of down to the smallest details. If I sent it to a customer it is something I would send to my self or a family member. I feel that in this industry your work is the best strategy to gain new and life long clients.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been Instagram and Facebook. Sharing the work I do is what has attracted people from all over the world to place orders with me.
