Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelli Burgin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kelli thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
I would absolutely have started my business sooner! I started my Hemp Wellness journey in October 2020. My youngest son was 15 months old and I was suffering from postpartum. After posting on social media about my anxiety, a high school friend of mine reached out and introduced me to Green Compass, their natural products and the business opportunity. After talking with her & doing some research I decided to go all in! I began taking the products and sharing my results. The “fog” I felt during postpartum had lifted, I was less anxious, and by sharing my story I was able to help others through this business. If I had known about this amazing opportunity years ago I believe my pregnancy and postpartum journey would have looked a lot different. Not only would I have had the products to help with my anxiety & postpartum symptoms, I would have loved to have the community within this company during my pregnancy and after I had my boys. There are so many stories leading people to this company that were similar to mine. Not to mention I was a stay at home mom after I had my first son so I would’ve had an extra income while being able to help others! Green Compass prides itself in offering the highest quality USDA certified organic products that help you feel your best. When you feel your best you’re able to be your best, you can’t put a price on that! Caring for yourself and your mental health is a necessity and plays a big part in being able to care for your family. So yes I will always wish I would have started sooner but I’m so happy that I took the first steps and got out of my comfort zone to help better myself & help others!
Kelli, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As I said before, I started as a Hemp Wellness advocate in October 2020. I was introduced to Green Compass by a friend after she realized I was struggling with anxiety. We are a family owned hemp wellness company based out of Wilmington North Carolina. Our products are USDA certified organic, and our company owns the entire process from the seed in the ground to the seal around every bottle! Each of our products have its very own QR code, when scanned brings up it’s very own certificate of analysis. So you know exactly when it was bottled and every single ingredient you’re putting in your body. You can partner with green compass as a customer and purchase products or become an advocate, share the products, and make commission even on your own personal orders. As an advocate, you also gain an amazing community full of people that help you every step of the way! We have events all the time and love to help and give back! I love getting together, and hearing the personal testimonies of other advocates and customers of how these products have helped change their life! I’m truly not the same wife, mother, or friend as I was 2 1/2 years ago. I’ve gained so much from this opportunity and can’t wait to see the growth within this company in the coming years!! As of right now CBD isn’t regulated by the FDA, but that is coming soon. Our founders were invited to Washington to be a part of the upcoming regulations! We’re setting the standard in the Hemp industry and I’m so proud to be a part of it!
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
The first time I met Meredith Cook, our founder was a an event in Concord, NC. I hadn’t been an advocate too long, I had heard the most amazing things about her, and was so excited to meet her! She had been a mother looking for a natural solution to help her kids. After doing her research, she realized all CBD products were not created equal so she made it her mission to create a high-quality product she could give her family. After standing in line, what felt like forever it was my turn to meet her and have my picture taken. I told her that I was so excited for this opportunity and thanked her for what she had created. She asked what led me to Green Compass. I explained how I struggled with postpartum after having my boys. She asked their names, and how old they were, and told me she was so glad that I was here and helping others. I have met her three other times, and every time she asks about my boys. One thing about this company is it’s family oriented. Our children are welcome at every event! As a mom it’s hard to have a business with small kids so to have such amazing support means the world!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My social media began an at outlet. I was an anxious stay at home mom craving community and wanting to provide humor to my followers. After starting my Green Compass business it took a little turn. I began looking at social media as my “restaurant”. No one is going to come to your restaurant if they don’t know what you serve, if it doesn’t look inviting, or if you don’t put up an open sign! So I made a point to post on my stories daily, create content, and continue to show up everyday whether I got likes, comments, or sales. Your social media should be clear on who you are & what your business is about. Sometimes that’s not always comfortable, but to be yourself and be relatable is key! Be comfortable with being uncomfortable ha ha it’s true! Share the good and bad! There’s someone out there’s that’s literally searching for what you have to offer and YOU could be their saving Grace or just help brighten their day. Either way is a win!
