We recently connected with Brittany Quintana Marti and have shared our conversation below.
Brittany, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry.
Homeowners and business owners are aware of the increasing costs associated with insurance premiums and the lack of availability of property insurance across the state of Florida. However, as a lawyer dedicated to representing policyholders in disputes with their insurance carriers, the environment has become increasingly hostile for Florida’s policyholders. Recently, our office helped a client secure $250,000.00 in unpaid insurance benefits after years of litigation and completing a four-day jury trial. Rather than seeing efforts to resolve the claim, our clients were met with nominal offers, exorbitant legal costs, and aggressive litigation tactics. This is even after a Court previously held that the carrier wrongfully withheld over $25,000 in insurance benefits from the insured for over a year without an explanation. In light of these trends, our clients are calling us to get involved in handling their insurance claims sooner rather than attempting to “go it alone.” Our clients are trusting us to remove as much stress and unpredictability as we can from process and to keep them informed each step of the way.

Brittany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have always been an advocate. Accordingly, as a first generation Cuban-American, I knew pretty early on that I wanted to become a lawyer. Ultimately, after several years of practicing as a trial lawyer for the state of Florida and in larger firms, I decided that I wanted to create a business of my own. And I have never looked backed.
I truly enjoy solving problems for my clients, earning and maintaining the trust of my clients, and leading a really talented team. Since 2018, we are so proud of having served over 180 clients across the state of Florida in disputes with their insurance companies, in contract disputes, and in construction-related disputes. We attribute our success to the close relationships we develop with our clients and the vast and diverse experience of our team.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My business partner is my sister. We are a family, women-run business that treats our clients as a part of the family. This unique aspect of our business has allowed us to grow our business, largely through word-of-mouth referrals.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I opened Quintana Law, PA as a new mother to a one year old. My children motivated me to create a business that attracted talent, served its community, and encouraged the amorphous and sometimes illusive concept known as a “work-life balance.” Really, for Quintana Law, that simply means creating a culture in the office that encourages open communication and reminds our staff that they are a part of a larger team. Hard work and dedication is rewarded here but not the sole focus of our team. I hope to one day set the example to my small children that there is tremendous personal satisfaction in assuming a leadership role and using your talents to help others who need your support.
