We recently connected with Amber DePangher and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Amber thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
We are seeing a lot of couples choosing to do a first look before the ceremony. A first look at a wedding is an intimate moment where the couple see each other before the ceremony usually getting photos and/or video of the moment. We love it when couples choose this as they can spend more time on the day together and if they want they can get family photos done before the ceremony so they can spend their cocktail hour with the guests instead of doing photos. The best part of this trend is the couple gets to spend more time together on the day of the wedding and they can spend more time with guests.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are Amber & Eric DePangher a wife & husband wedding photographer team out of Portland, Oregon with a different story than most. Both of us actually had our own established wedding photography businesses, with years of experience behind us, before we ever met. We met each other at a wedding networking meeting, became friends and then fell in love in about a month of meeting each other. After a wedding season we merged our 2 businesses into Sightglass Photography. Eric really loves taking fine art images while amber is loves with showing your day threw photojournalism and together we have blended out styles to give you a few fine art images while telling the story of your day threw photos.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Back in 2017 I went to a Wedding Network USA meeting about wedding shows (at the time I was a wedding show producer) to network with vendors to do our wedding show. Eric introduced himself to me and we just clicked. When he shock my hand I felt this shocking feeling that sent goosebumps down my back (I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life). We ended up chatting for hours and agreed to meet up at the second networking meeting that night to chat more. After spending more time chatting about photography and the wedding industry, I told him about Facebook networking groups and that he should friend request me so I can add him to the groups so he could grow his business. After That we ended up becoming friends and chatting everyday. After a month we realized we both had more than friend feelings (turns out everyone else saw it before us) and we started dating. Then a year later we decided to combine our photography companies into 1 and work together. Another year later we got married and it’s been the best to work everyday with my best friend and life partner.
