Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Timothy Gipson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Timothy , appreciate you joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?

Every order that we receive gets a special thank you that is hand written on the packing slip. I write “Thank You (customers name)! Hope you enjoy :) Timmy and Jason.

We want each of our customers to know that we appreciate there business and continued support.

We also try to do specials on shipping. We also try and make sure we recognize different groups and show them our support as well.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

We are a LGBTQ+ business. We got started because we were trying to find something to replace our cattle. We stumbled across tea on vacation and learned it’s growing conditions and decided to give it a try

Have you ever had to pivot?

In Covid we had to learn how to still teach our classes about tea but not be in person. So we had to pivot and go to online classes. We had to learn to use a whole new platform for our students.

We stumbled soon teachable and were able to store class material on there for our students to be able to refer back to when they needed.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

When we got started we tried to see about loans from AG bank. Unfortunately because we were frowning a crop that was not topically grown in the US we were unable to get funding to help us out. We finally decided that we would take what we had and just start small. We started with what we could afford and work our way up as we could.
