We recently connected with Dominique Jones and have shared our conversation below.

Dominique, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

My business is called KnuYou Services where I help new businesses with their branding through merchandise marketing. I came up with the name because my sole focus was and are new businesses. Starting something new is creating a new you because you’re going from an employee to a business owner with potential employer. So, a new you is exactly what it is, nevertheless I wanted to change the spelling to make it catchy to the eye, hence “KnuYou” developed!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Dōmo and I have a disability that lead me to use a walker and leg braces to help with balance. After dealing with surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation, I wanted to target the disabled community in using my personal journey to show them THEY CAN BREAK THE STIGMA BEYOND OUR CONDITIONS! I I became a Master Certified Disability  Confidence Coach, 2x Self-Published Author, have three businesses, and in Aug, 2021, I became the host of the very first disability talk show hosted by someone with a disability called “One Billion Brave”! My recent business “KnuYou Services” stemmed from all the groundwork I learned from my businesses now helping new small businesses with the custom basics of promoting their brands abroad. Once I realized my purpose, no hindrance could stop me until it manifests! You can’t tell me it can’t be done because I’m ACTUALLY doing

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Yes! Let me tell you, as a person that’s majority focus is to create for others, I wish I would’ve known about a program called Canva a long time ago! They do everything! It makes the creative process so much more easier using this program because they offer so many services and templates for any categories or idea you need.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

In my career, because I’m an Author, I wanted to become a Self Publishing Coach coaching others through the Self Publishing process. Once I started in that routine, I quickly noticed this wasn’t something I could see myself doing long term. I became annoyed very easily, and I quickly realized that I don’t have as much patience as I thought I did doing it myself! But what did come easy for me, was freely creating. I loved getting ideas or a thought from someone and bringing it to life. So as I went back to the drawing board, I came up with my business “KnuYou” services to help new businesses that don’t know how to market their brand.
