Stephanie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

In early 2020, before Covid 19, I was in the process of relocating to another state. I was extremely excited and ready, I even sent my own share of the rent and furniture to my roommate to start getting things ready since she lived in the state. At that moment, all I had in my savings was $3000 and I sent it to her. Due to the pandemic and the sudden changes it came with, I was unable to move; and it was too late to get my money back because everything was already in the process. I got so sad and depressed to the point where I started losing my hair, especially in the front (edges). I tried a lot of hair growth oils, and home remedies, but none seemed to solve my problem. Eager to find a solution, I began researching on natural products that aided with hair growth. I saw so many but narrowed it down to the eleven I believed would solve my problem. I was very confident it would work because of the name “hair germinator growth oil.” I had written down 5 other names on paper and also prayed God should give me a name that best fits the product since He was the one who helped me pick the ingredients. As I began the elimination process with the other names, Hair Germinator came to mind and I immediately knew it was God. What was so interesting is I hadn’t tried the product before naming it. No, I do not manufacture my own ingredients, I get them from trusted websites. When I initially started my business, I bought the ingredients from Amazon and a close by department store. I had no idea there were websites that offered the ingredients in bulk. I started with what I knew and learned throughout the journey, I’m still learning. I’ve learned that there’s no perfect time to start a business, the idea is already a good start. Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I used my credit card with the intentions of paying it back once I started making sales. I used my credit card and bought only what I needed for my first batch, I didn’t buy too much since I was still testing the waters. It was either that or wait to have it all figured out, but I couldn’t wait because the product was ready to be birthed, so I went with what I had. It was a risk I was willing to take.
