We recently connected with Liz Courtney and have shared our conversation below.
Liz, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Day to day the world can seem like a tough place, but there’s also so much kindness in the world and we think talking about that kindness helps spread it and make the world a nicer, kinder place. Can you share a story of a time when someone did something really kind for you?
One of our amazing vendors sat on the phone with me so so many times while I just vented about how hard planning that year’s expo had been. She also offered thousands of dollars of her product and services for free to make sure the event was a huge success. I will never be able to thank her enough for her generosity and encouragement.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, I’m Liz Courtney. I purchased Clarksville Wedding Company in October 2021 when it was still Clarksville Brides. I had been a long-time member and supporter of the expo so when the previous owner decided to sell, I knew I wanted to keep it going and grow it even bigger. We started out as a wedding vendor expo and brought vendors and couples together to plan their perfect wedding days. When I purchased the company, I knew I wanted to grow it in even more amazing ways. I rebranded to be Clarksville Wedding Company, an inclusive wedding planning experience. I wanted to make sure all couples felt included in our events and I think we’ve done a great job of that so far. As we continue to grow, we’ll be adding not only vendor but also couple educational and meetup events. I am so proud of the rebrand and how well-received it has been.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think my belief and practice of “Community over Competition.” I truly believe that there are clients out there for everyone and no matter the business or similarity to my own, I am willing to help them learn, grow and succeed. I also believe that my reputation as a photographer first and one that is well known in my community and the wedding industry has really helped get the word out about Clarksville Wedding Company and has shown not only veteran supporters but also new ones that they can trust me and my dedication to not only this company but also to the growth of all business owners.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I am actually working on this now and am so excited about what is to come. I am starting up a robust email marketing system as well as adding new ways that companies and their owners can utilize Clarksville Wedding Company to not only grow as business owners but to grow their actual business. The entire purpose of Clarksville Brides previously was to connect vendors with couples so they can help to make every couple’s wedding day the best it can possibly be. That is still the main focus of Clarksville Wedding Company but I am now going to grow into the educational sphere so that companies and their owners have even more reason to come network, gain knowledge and in turn grow all of our businesses.
