We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarah Sauceda. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarah below.
Sarah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
For people dealing with thinning hair or baldness, that it’s an embarrassment and it’s shamed upon to wear a hair system. It saddens me that it’s something people make fun of other people for having thinning or no hair at all. Hair systems have come and gone since as early as 3000 B.C.
Sarah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi! I’m Sarah. I have been in the hair replacement for 22 years. I started in the beauty industry because I liked helping people feel good about themselves. I went to cosmetology school f/t, Worked f/t at nights as a waitress. I’ve recently started working on my brand of hair systems. SeamLess V~ Skins & SeamLess K~ Skins. I love keeping the price affordable for everyday working Americans. I also provide other types of custom hair wear for men and women. I like to accommodate one on one with customers. I love the confidence customers feel after they get their hair on.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Being consistent and a woman of my word. When an appointment is booked I try my best to keep that appointment. Stay on top of the time if I’m running late I usually try to give a text or call to the customers if there’s issues. Communication is key. Any type of advance training in the Indy sis key.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
When Covid first hit, the amount of workers from over seas that had stopped working. Product wise to have a turn around time of 12 weeks. Then it’s turned into 14 months to some extent. Don’t take anybody or even anything for granted. No matter how much we try to be proactive, are unforeseen circumstances.
