We recently connected with Ashley Thompson and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Growing up in a single parent home was a blessing. It really shaped and built my character. My mom instilled so many lessons for me to apply throughout my life and for that I’m so grateful for her.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve had my heart set on health and wellness for the longest growing up. I graduated with my Biology degree with the focus of continuing my education into Dentistry. However, God had other plans for me. I was later introduced into cosmetics which I enjoyed formulating products but what I loved most was learning how the products shaped the customers wellbeing. Nutrition became my focal point when I discovered I had fibroids in 2019 only to later experience an unfortunate miscarriage. This setback inspired me to live a more, consistent , healthy lifestyle and to empower others in nutrition and wellness as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and children’s book author of Cultivating Inner Beauty and Ella’s Greatest Adventures.
I love empowering others to walk boldly in who they were created to be as the best versions of themselves. I offer a variety of services such as nutrition consulting, personal care products, children’s books, affirmation apparel and jewelry.
I’m very proud of my work especially to accomplish so much as my job outside of working full time. It takes a lot of discipline and faith!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I’m learning one of the most effective strategies for growing my clientele is understanding the power of relationships. A lot of my clients were cultivated by relationship. Establishing relationships builds trust and its better because it puts both parties at ease when it comes to serving my people.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
If I could go back I would still end up in the same paths. Empowering others through health and faith is my purpose. Being able to do what I love in this capacity is very rewarding.
