Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to King Dari. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi King , thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
. Last year around this time, I took a huge leap of faith and entered into a competition for a chance to go perform in Miami. I was scared. Terrified because I didn’t know if taking this risk would pay off. When I arrived on the Miami beaches, I realized that me taking that leap and trusting myself did pay off. As an artist, taking risks is something that happens 24/7, 365. Choosing the right risks and the risks that will benefit you best is what’s most important.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a full-time Music Artist/producer/songwriter. I also act from time to time as well, and I also write poetry. I specialize in Pop, Hip-Hop & R&B, but I have also been classically trained for 5 years to sing and can sing a mean Schubert lol! I’m most proud of how well I can adapt to different types of music genres. It takes a certain amount of both skill and training to do the things that I do, so I am just proud of myself for not being stuck in one specific place musically.
And it’s also something that I incorporate into my music—something that sets me apart from most artists. I keep my lyrics personal, yet effective and catchy—wordplay is important—for all my music. And I also make my own beats, so that’s a nice touch as well.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Networking, networking, networking. It’s so vital to growth and success as an artist, not only to get experience working with others, but also helping each other refine their craft. After all, that’s what we want.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Growing up, my family had to make a lot of sacrifices. After I left my parents place, I made a lot of personal sacrifices during my college years and afterwards. Going through multiple life events, a pandemic and the world changing around you can be very scary and challenging. But I’ve pressed through and continued to work through it all. It’s not about what happens, but how you can get back up from it.
