My name is Alena Zubakina and I am a professional fashion model, having thrived in this dynamic industry for over 15 years. Originating from the captivating city of Omsk in Siberia, Russia, my journey began unexpectedly when a scout from my first modelling agency spotted me while I wandered the streets in August 2006. By February of the following year, I was walking on the runways of Tokyo Fashion Week, an exhilarating experience that opened a world of possibilities. Since then, I have had the privilege of working in renowned fashion capitals like Milan, New York, Paris, and London. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with esteemed brands which include Versace, Prada, Celine, Oscar de la Renta, Moncler, and L’Oréal, and my work has been featured in prestigious magazines such as Italian Vogue Sposa, Elle, and Madame Figaro. While my captivating presence has graced the shelves of renowned retailers like Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. These experiences have enriched my journey as a fashion model, leaving an indelible mark on my path to success.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Oh yes. Looking back on my career, I often wish I had known how to master the runway walk from the very beginning instead of learning it the hard way along the course of my journey.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a fashion model is the opportunity to bring artistry and creativity to life through the transformative power of fashion. It’s a thrilling experience to collaborate with talented designers, photographers, and stylists, and to see the final results showcased in magazines, runway shows and campaigns globally. Additionally, the sense of accomplishment that comes from successfully embodying different characters, conveying emotions, and inspiring others is truly gratifying. Ultimately, being a fashion model allows for personal growth, self-expression, and the chance to leave a lasting impact on the industry and those who appreciate it.
