We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kayla Cadavona a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kayla, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Business Name: KaySocialBuilds

Social – Social Media / Social Networking
Builds – Helping Business Owners build an attractive and aesthetic platform to level up their business brand, and a professional home builders and designer (along with small business owners) reputation through their social media business platform.
For the past 14 years, I’ve humbled my way through many industries: Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Retail, Network Marketing, Interior Design and Construction.
I’ve grown to love the Home Building & Design industry and for the past almost 7 years, I’ve dreamt of becoming my own CEO. Since I became a mom, I wanted to find a way to work from home to be close to my babies, and still be a part of the Home Building & Design industry.
Back in Nov 2022, I got laid off of my job, and at that moment, I knew it was a sign for me to take action of my dream of being my own CEO. So I built a business as a Social Media Manager & Content Creator, because I’ve noticed that not much SMM & Creators are tapped into this part of the industry. I see a bunch of fashion, and beauty creators and social media managers, but not so much for the Home Builders and Designers.
Throughout my time within this industry, I can understand the perspective for all parts, such as: Builders, Subs, Designers, Architects, Home Profession Trades and Homeowners. So in my mind, I thought, “WHY NOT START?!”
KaySocialBuilds became relevant for the industry, but also opened to small business owners.
My goal is to help Builders and Designers understand the power of social media. Not a lot of the business owners nowadays see the power of what it can do for their business. So many business owners don’t really quite understand how to use it, or know its purpose and that’s where I come in. Being that I’ve come from this industry, I can utilize my advantage of what a Homeowner looks for in a builders and designer, and vice versa, along with home profession trades.
I want businesses to know that my platform isn’t to just help them take their social media business page to the next level, but to also support local business trades.
For Example: If I’m working with a Designer or Architect, and they’re looking for a Builder, I can send in my recommendations off of my Builders list. If a Builder is looking for a Tile Supplier, I can send in my recommendations off of my Tile Suppliers list. If an Architect or Designer is looking for an Architectural Photographer, I can also send in my recommendation for that specific need.
I’m all about connections, networking and collaboration. Any way to help business thrive from Next Level Social Media, Content Creation, and Connecting and Introducing businesses with other related business.
I want to be able to help Builders and Designers utilize myth services so they don’t have to. I know how much time they put into their work, and most times, I see Builders and Designers show up on their platform with no intention, no purpose and just posting just to post. This is why I’ve built this business, and I felt that in my heart, this would be a successful way for me to be a momtreprenuer and still be within the industry I fell in love with.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kayla, a mom of 2 boys, fiancé, a proud filipina and a Social Media Manager + Content Creator for Home Professionals (Builders, Designers, Vendors).
I help busy business owners take their Social Media Business page to the next level and Create Content that will attract and educate their ideal clients.
What sets me apart from other Social Media Management, and Content Creators, is that I get to utilize real life experience through Home Building and Design. For the past almost 7 years of building relationships within this industry, I know what Homeowners look for when it comes to making the decision of working with a Home Builder, Designer and Supply Vendor.
What I’m most proud of is being able to understand the industry and making it simple for Home Builders and Designers to work with me, because I know exactly what their social media business platform needs.
I want my potential clients to know that I’m a One Stop Service provider. I’m able to manage their social media platform, create content, capture the content, introduce them to other home professions. I want them to know that I’m more than just a creator and a social media manager, if they are looking for connections, I can introduce them to other home professionals. I’m all about helping businesses do business together, that way we all win together!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I remember a time where my business didn’t seem necessary, and felt as if my business wasn’t ideal for business owners within the Home Building and Designing industry.
From being left on read, or didn’t see much value to what I had to serve. I definitely took a beat from it and it lead me to feel that I wasn’t good enough and had second thoughts of my business.
But, what got me through it was always leaning back into my WHY, and to always have repetition and always showcase my purpose of my business. I resiliently made my way to believe in my business so others can believe in it too. I was able to grow myself from doubt, and to never look back on the judgement, or the rejections. Instead, I look forward to the next business owner, my future clients, my potential clients to see the value, to see what its like to work with someone that can help them take a load off of their plate, so they can focus on areas of their company where its most needed other than trying to figure out what post to post next, putting extra time on the side to engage with people online, to take the time to create content etc.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The moment I first started my business, I was a little all over the place. I was still trying to figure out my niche, and my audience. I was opening services to EVERYONE! I remember I had Social Media Management, Content Creation, FFE Services and IT WAS A LOT!
As I reflected at the time I was feeling stressed out, trying to please everyone with my skills, I knew I needed to pivot my business and narrow things down.
I ended up narrowing my ideal clients, and narrowing down my services and the content that I was creating to post.
Since I’ve made a pivot, everything became clearer and clearer for me and it became a lot more inspiring, and it motivates me. As much as I’d love to cater to ALL, I knew that narrowing down my niche, my ideal clients, my services would help me to expand further into the future.
