We were lucky to catch up with Diedre Curry recently and have shared our conversation below.
Diedre , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
When I first started my journey I started as a makeup artist. My goal was to enhance the beauty that was already there. God had a bigger plan for me my passion in make up lead me to become a producer. Same mission but bigger. I was scared because I didn’t see myself doing anything else outside of makeup and the more I tried to run from it the more it kept showing up. With tv this allow me to give women a voice to be heard and seen through the power of their story. I wanted to highlight to women who were powerful but had a hard time seeing it for themselves. I would travel far to get the story and stay up all night editing . I lesson I learned is the things we are afraid to share the the very things that set us apart.

Diedre , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Diedre and I am a Professional Shit Talker. Before I owned my purpose I use to believe that I needed permission or approval from others to do something that was outside of what was considered Normal. The truth is I convinced myself it had to be true because it was easier for me to ask for others people opinion so I wouldn’t out grow them. I allowed this theory to affect the confidence when it come to my self worth and my business. What I discovered is…. “Most of us believe that courage takes more effort and energy than we have available during this journey we call life. In the moments where your voice depends on it is the moment you must arrive.” I am a professional Sh*t Talker. I teach resilient women to redefine themself by showing up to every room and owning it( online or in person ) scale their presence to deepen their brand value. For the last 5years I have studied Marketing and Advertising. With my expertise will I help you show up and Talk Yo Shit. We focus on the fundamentals of who you are which shapes your story. Your audience will see you, relate to you and join you.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I didn’t truly find my voice until I went through my divorce which I found myself living in darkness GOD saved me. My resilience came from the commitment of betting on myself. Making a good light for me and my daughter when everything all round me was burning to the ground. In the moments when we feel like we cannot do anything or shame is sitting front row we have to thrive. For 7 months I slept on my grandpas couch and drove 4 hours a day to work and school. I rebuild my faith and got everything in order . I have never lost.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Always keeping my WHY as my motivation. My purpose is not for me it’s for the people I am responsible for. I live by the rule of three who I serve , what I do and how I can help solve their problem. Your strategy and purpose has to be bigger than you . If we are honest it has nothing to do with you. My advice and pick an area where you want to be know for . Create a plan to show up there and do it every single time. Create a goal for the experience.
