Lise Farah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Most people think in words. I think in pictures and colors. I am creative, a poet and story teller. I am always looking for new ways to tell a story or finding creative ways to share a new perspective to others. So, combining my background in psychology and my creative nature, I began finding creative outlets and desiring to help others tell their stories in creative ways. I started off with learning how to design websites on WordPress. I learned that mostly through YouTube videos, free online classes and a trial and error. I turned my poems and passion for writing into a blog that I ran for almost five years and even founded and ran three business that I did all the marketing and design for. I went to the library and read design books, how-to creative books, color and psychology books and I listened to podcast along with thousands of hours of YouTube videos. I also shadowed my friends who went to school for coding, graphic art, photography and the like.
I do not think there is anything I would have done different to speed up the learning process. I believe everything I learned happened at the right time. I found a passion for it and learned to keep trying when things don’t go as planned. My mistakes were lessons and areas of growth. The time was part of the fun, the journey, and the challenge.
Time management, adaptability, and empathy were the three skills I have essential to my journey and work. I am a wife, mom, student, and entrepreneur and I live by my calendar and organization system. I always make sure in the midst of the beautiful chaos to schedule time for my self-care and mental health. Life comes at you fast and nothing is predictable. The ability ti adapt and pivot is so essential and finding ways to be graceful about it and asking for help has truly been a game changer for me. I believe more people need to move about their lives with more empathy. Empathy for self and for others. I bring that awareness in my personal and professional life.
The obstacles that have stood in the way of my learning has been my health and mental health. I have a two year old son and my postpartum journey was difficult on my body, my mental, and emotional help. But with my faith, my community, and therapy, I have and will continue to overcome.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was born in Haiti and have lived majority of my life here in the U.S. I am probably one of the most loyal, kind, protective, and loving person you will ever meet. As a homebody, I find joy in cleaning and organizing my space to be exactly what I need it to be. I graduated from The University of Georgia, GOOOOO DAWWGGGSS, with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and I also hold a Masters degree. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, nurses, and amazing chefs.
My first business venture was starting my own catering business. I wanted to share my Haitian culture with others through food. I loved doing that and provided serves from wedding catering to meal prepping to helps mom’s reach their goals.
Currently my brand and business if focused in the social media world. I started in this industry six years ago after the church I was attended needed to create a new website and wanted to use social media to gain awareness. Aside from having an instagram of my own and making YouTube videos, I had no prior experience in either. But, we were a small church on a budget, I was a few months post graduation, and had no idea what I wanted to do next. I took on the challenge. The next six months, I learned how to build a WordPress website, I learned about Google Analytics and ads, design, photography, social media marketing, video editing, branding, and so much more. I become obsessed after seeing the fruits of my hard work. The church had a beautiful website and blog that I managed and we were growing in terms of brand awareness. When COVID hit, we had such a strong online presence because of the work I had put in that we did not miss a beat. Having a skill that impacted so many people and allowed my creativity tank to stay full was the most exciting and fulfilling experience I have had. Soon I was helping other small businesses in the community with their branding, websites, business consulting and even speaking at various workshops and conferences for women in business. I never looked backed!
I currently offer these services:
– Business consulting
-Content creation
-Social media management
-Business Branding
I am most proud of my growth as a person, business owner, and creative. I am proud of how much I have learned on my own and through the millions of resources online as well as being able to set an example for my son that “Momma is the bomb.com.” I am sure he will think I am lame in the years to come but in his heart he will know that his momma follows her dreams and helps people reach theirs.
What I want people to know about me is simple: I was created to love, serve, and create.
I am a fun and passionate woman who is in love with helping people reach for the stars and succeeding in every area of their lives. There is no greater purpose or career I could have.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
CANVA!!!! I cannot say enough what Canva has meant to me and my business. I have been an advocate for Canva ever since I started using this amazing platform. I took the challenge of becoming a self proclaimed billboard for Canva by bringing it up and insisting my nonprofit and church/religious organization clients use it for their team. Canva is a game changer and I cannot wait to see what more is to come.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My business partner is also my life partner! My amazing husband, Kosi, has been my rock. While I live in my daydreams, bringing up new ideas, and creatively conquering the world, he makes sure the bills and account for personal and business are being paid and full.
We met at a Bible study in college during my sophomore year and his freshman year. We became really good friends and after about a year he decided to ask me out. I was hesitate at first because I honestly did not think I deserved someone like him and felt like damaged goods. My parents had just divorced, I was keeping the secret of my sexual assault from people I loved, and I was just numb. I just knew that if he found out, he would see me differently. I am beyond grateful that he saw the real me and still said, “I choose you.” Fast forward seven and half years later and he has never wavered in his love and support for me. Even when I am over budget or obsessively talking about a new project or idea, he listens and supports me….and our clients!
