We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Natascia Bachini a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Natascia, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
My passion for pastry was born from an early age, when I spent whole days in the kitchen with my grandmother. Those scents, those recipes and that craftsmanship have accompanied me throughout my life, transforming passion into work.
Over time I have studied and perfected my technique to achieve results that today are a source of pride for me.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Sweetie Pie is an event pastry shop that creates emotions through sweets. I, together with my collaborator Federico, want to break the traditional patterns of pastry, creating new and refined ones in which excellent raw materials are combined with beauty and elegance. Living in Italy, more precisely in Tuscany, we breathe art every day. Everything around us is an inspiration for us. For example, in our creations you can easily find the beauty and roughness of ceramics, the dynamism and sinuosity of sculpture (first of all Michelangelo’s sculptures). All our cakes are unique, personalized and tailor-made for each customer. Our slogan is: “don’t just call them cakes”.
Our greatest pride is to have customers who call us throughout Italy and abroad. Among them there are also numerous characters of the show.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Sweetie Pie’s mission is to excite people through taste. We combine typical Italian flavors with modern recipes to create authentic and deep sensations. We love to see the eyes of customers who admire one of our creations, we love the moment when expectations meet taste. We love to give shape to a dream.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Kneading, shaping and spatulating, my work gives me the opportunity to create. The beauty of the handmade, the many hours of work, the long process to get to the finished product, make it so precious and I love this.
